Air 2.8.4 software update

...I'm ditching the 21" magnesium rims permanently as they are too soft for Colorado potholes and get torn-up easily, offer significantly less range due to weight, and make the ride stiff.
19" wheels for durability and range, 20" for looks and performance. 21" are automotive high-heels, striking but impractical.

Updated…no noticeable change.
Perhaps that's exactly the point....by making you "update to the new SW", it makes you reset the car's computer. It doesn't do anything. But it fixes stale states that gives you problems. It is a placebo!

Did anyone notice they added a top speed for DD pro? I was capped today at 85 in a 70 (maybe a good thing) but I never experienced that before

As I said before, this is not how software development works.

Don't know what is going on but after more than 16K miles we averaged 3.6 mi/kWh Downloaded the latest OTA update yesterday & today after fresh charge & 20 miles we are getting 4.14 mi/kWh. Lovining it & hope it continues.

Completed the update today. Not sure if I noticed any differences. The Traffic Cleared alert could be more sensitive?

I’ve also had issues with Spotify lately, it defaults to Bluetooth instead and doesn’t like to switch to Spotify. After the update Spotify worked normally. We’ll see!

There has always been an 85 mph limit for DA and HFDA.

Lower side wall height and stickier tires are better for sporty driving.

We downloaded 2.8.4 two days ago, and the car was working well afterward, although I haven't tried out the ADAS updates.

Today the car is throwing up "Drive System Warning: Contact Customer Care", and the A/C is pumping out heat with the thermostat set to 70º. The cabin is blisteringly hot.

I have done two Air logo resets and two X/Mic/Brake resets to no avail. Being Sunday, Customer Care is closed.

Any ideas?

Let it sleep for 30 minutes and try again. I had a lot of ADAS issues after loading 2.8.4 but they went away after a sleep reset. I am not sure on the AC, that one is odd.

We own two Lucids, this 2022 Air Dream and a Gravity Dream, with a second Gravity Dream on the way. This was part of our plan to sell our Honda Odyssey and become an all-EV / all-Lucid household this year.

The first Gravity has spent one third of the time since its June 30 delivery in service centers. (It's in a service center in Atlanta right now for a new rear drive unit.). Since June 30 the Air has been in a service center twice: first to have the frunk struts and latches replaced, then to have the front left turn signal module replaced. Now this.

So, of necessity, our plans have changed. We're going to sell the Air before the 4-year leg of the warranty runs out early next year, as it's not a car to keep outside of warranty, and nothing has come of Lucid's earlier talk about an extended warranty program. Nor can we rely on having a Gravity available to us.

So we'll go ahead and keep the two Gravities (for now, at least), because they are at the outset of their warranties. But we'll now also keep the ever-reliable 2018 Honda Odyssey we were planning to sell. I'm not excited about owning only SUVs, but we've got to be sure of at least one car that we can use . . . and Lucid doesn't give us that.

It's such a damn shame, as nothing drives like a Lucid. Sometimes.

This happened when my partner was coming home from a tennis match. It did sit for more than 30 minutes before I went to check the car out.

I think at least one other poster here mentioned his A/C not working after the update? (Ours is actually working, but it's only heating. It's not ambient air it's putting through the vents.)

Oooh, that's good to see. So far, 2.8 has been really solid for me, as was the proceeding update. I haven't had to soft reboot my car for months now. But I'm always happy to have a bit more robustness.

What I really want for Christmas though is lane keeping assist for those of us with DD Premium. They should be able to do that, and now DD Pro has been improved to the point that they could give that to us (and improve their offering) without getting too close to what DD Pro offers.
Yes!! Just took delivery of our Air Touring on Friday and was surprised my Kia EV6 lane keeping/highway drive assist is far more advanced than DD “Premium.” All the hands-free stuff for Pro makes sense, but Premium should have 2022 Kia level tech at a minimum.

I let the car sleep for an additional hour and tried again. The A/C is now working properly, but now this message is flashing repeatedly at about 5-second intervals. (I stayed in the car several minutes to see if it would quit, but it did not.)

We had to cancel or postpone two road trips in our new Gravity, and on the one we finally took the car had to be left 600 miles behind for a rear drive unit replacement. Today is my birthday, and we are picking up friends tonight to join a gathering. The Gravity is in the shop again, the Air has now crapped out, and I've got to get the Odyssey cleared of its dog paraphernalia and cleaned up a bit so that we can take it instead.

I'm getting really sick and tired of this. I've been a loyal Lucid fan since the brand first landed, but there's only so much more of this I'm going to put up with. I'm tired of a calendar filled with service appointments. I'm tired of never knowing what new and unsettling warning or software hiccough I'm going to be encountering. I'm tired of changing plans to work around whatever misbehavior a Lucid is in the mood for.

I know I'm just venting at this point . . . but damn it all. Enough is enough. I don't care any more how much fun the cars can be to drive on the days they're working.

I only have sympathy. This really sucks. If our experiences were reversed, I don’t know that I would last as long.

I don’t know how you keep getting so unlucky with the vehicles. I don’t get it.

I hope you have a really happy and fun birthday regardless.

I wish I had anything else to say but that, but all I have is hugs. <3

Soooooooo...I think I'm going to wait a bit before I apply this update. The car is working fine, and I don't need the additional robustness right now.

I installed mine remotely from Tahoe. Will let you know if I have any issues when I get home, but based on the fact that only @hmp10 has had an issue I’m not concerned.

Other people should also post whether it was fine or not, just to get a bit of data.
