2022 Lucid Air GT
I just bought a 2022 air GT today (used) and when I go to the Google Play store to download the lucid motors app I get a message saying "Looking for lucid motors? This app won't work for your device"

I have a OnePlus 8 phone with Android 11. From everything I've seen it should be compatible. I've never been blocked from downloading an app before. Any advice?

For android 11, you can get version 1.48.1 (assuming you know how to install .apk files: this is relatively simple to do). The newer versions of the app will not work on Android 11 (these are on .xapk format). The older version of the app is quite functional. Just ensure that the source you download the older version from is a reliable source. You will not be able to find the older versions on playstore, but there are plenty of archive sites that have the older version. The older app version still works very well.

Alternatively, time to upgrade the phone :).

Is there a version that I can download to my Bell Telephone rotary wall phone? Also, can anyone tell me how to untangle the squiggly cord between the base and the handset? :-)

Android 16 is the current OS version, being on 11 will limit some app downloads

I also get the message as did GoCubs. I have Android 15. Looks like I will need to go buy a NEW $1500.00 phone to solve the problem?
Relatively simple to Luci is relatively difficult for me. I'm not an IT person. It's all FM to me.

You don't need a new phone. You can get one, but you can easily use the old version of the app that would be compatible with your device.

Like I said, you can download the .apk file from an archive site and manually install it in your phone. It will work just fine. And you do not need to be an IT professional to do this, just need to be a little comfortable with transferring files to your android device and changing permissions to allow installs from non-playstore sources. Just pick the appropriate version from mirror sites. Apkpure.net would be a good place to begin. Just search for lucidmotors app.

Hold the base of the cord and dangle the handset until it's completely detangled and unwound.

I'd suggest the excellent Pixel 9A at $499.

Agree... I use Pixel phones and you can always have the last Android version
With monthly security patches, bug fixes, and new features.

The phone I'm attempting to use has Android 15 OS. It is a new phone but with 15 rather than Android16. I'm trying to figure out why "This app won't work for your device". There is no explanation that I am able to find.

What kind of phone? The current version of the app requires Android 12+, so 15 should be fine. It could be some hardware limitation though, for example the app no longer supports 32bit processors.

No Brand Phone. Clone Phone? alps Phone states it is a S26 Ultra. It is a cheap China made phone. Oh, they are all made in China aren't they? I'd bet I bought a turd.
Android 15.0 RAM 16GB ROM 1TB Hardware Version REV0.6C what ever that means to anyone. I'll give the Apkpure.net site a try. I don't know where to check if 32bit or 64 processor.

I haven't found anything specific about the Alps S26 ultra, but I did find a forum thread detailing the S24 Ultra. It is very likely that the real version of Android on it is very old. The S24 claimed to have Android 14 but was actually on 8.1

So yes, a cheap Chinese knockoff.

Yeah… I’d buy a more reputable phone. My guess is you bought a dud.
