Autel chargers

Check with your local power company. Mine in Denver would give $500 if I bought one of two units, Autel was one of them I think. I just needed to wifi hook it to their grid. My elec company in the mountains gave me a $750 Chargepoint for free. Same wifi hookup.

Just saying, check you local power company for deals.

Latest article from Motor Trend today about the Autel chargers...
Seems like a great choice, and less expensive than the ChargePoint Home Flex.

Here is my experience with the Autel. I posted this in another place so I wanted to make sure its seen as there is a downside to this charger if you do not have an Ethernet connection in the area of your install.

Just had the Autel Maxi Charger installed. It works very well - charging at 79 to 80 Amps. It does require an internet connection and will not do wifi. You have to plug in an Ethernet cable or insert a mobile SIM card.
You cannot start without an internet connection. Since this is in the garage and running an Ethernet wire is not an option I tried to get a SIM card. The cost for this was $50 and $30 a month for service.
I finally went with a powerline system where internet goes through the electrical wires in the house. The cost of the two modules is between $30 and $100 depending on the model. This is the model I purchased.

TRENDnet Powerline 1300 AV2 Adapter Kit, Includes 2 x TPL-422E Powerline Ethernet Adapters, IEEE 1905.1 & IEEE 1901, Gigabit Port, Range Up to 300m (984 ft), Simple Installation, White, TPL-422E2K

This saved me a lot of time and grief so I thought I would share the idea.

Since installing I have had no problems it charges FAST (between 75 and 80 mph), and the software is very good. The first graph is charging to 80% and the second is to 100%.

Hope this helps

My connection to the garage was marginal. It worked but dropped off one time. I upgraded to a newer mesh router and was able to place the second slave router in the garage. Problem solved. Not top of the line router, just 1900. Less than $80 now. Also solved connection issues with my garage door opener cameras and extended my wireless coverage to my casita to connect the Ecobee thermostat and that garage door opener as well. Range of mesh routers are amazing and continue to increase with newer ones. Just another option. BTW, the Autel charger has been problem free.

The Autel Maxi 80 Amp requires a Ethernet Cable to be connected. I have plenty of WiFi in the garage!

Wow! Didn't know they made a bigger model. Awesome!

Anyone here have experience with an Autel charger? It seems to offer much for the money.
We've had one for two years or so. We had some problems getting it to connect to wifi, so we've just used it as a dumb charger. Never bothered calling customer service. It's worked great and we're okay with not being able to control it with our phones.

On my Air, it's been giving me 43-44 miles per hour of charge. Around 9 kW.
