I am close to placing an order. It seems that I can get a quick delivery but with a configuration without the towing package. I need a hitch for my bike rack. Do you know of any issue with the Gravity getting a hitch installed after delivery by a third-party installer?

I don’t think anyone has installed a third-party hitch yet. The towing package includes the receiver but also the housing for it under the vehicle; I’m not sure what happens with that housing in the non-tow package vehicles. It might be worth asking if you can add the tow package at service later?

Also, there are a number of discussions active in the forum about the suitability of the tow hitch for a bike rack. I don't know jack squat about bike racks or towing hitches but my reading of those threads suggests the Lucid-supplied tow hitch may not accommodate much weight. I'd suggest you search the forum for "tongue weight" or "bike rack" to turn up the relevant threads/posts.

It's 110 pounds total accessory weight per the manual. This should, but barely, do a good bike rack and one e-bike. I'm planning on the QuikrStuff Mach 2 which is 28 pounds. My bike is around 70, so it should work. But very disappointed that we can't do more weight...I had wanted to do a cargo box with a Yakima swing away but that would be nearly 200 pounds with gear.

I found this in another threads. It seems that even with a 50% decrease it would work for a bike rack. However, 110 pounds would not be enough for a rack and 2 or 3 bikes. Raleighone, would you post where you found the manual?

Thank you raleighone. This is what the manual says:

110 lbs is not enough.

I assume that the OEM for the hitch is Oris, Model AK41 - Detachable receiver. Oris provides this info regarding this model:

The allowed tongue weight is 10% of the towing capacity, so 600 lbs. 50% would be 300 lbs, plenty enough.

I called the hitch center that i used to install hitches on my previous cars. They do not know Lucid Gravity and have no interest in learning.

I have a Gravity test drive tomorrow. I will try to get an answer from Lucid. I will post if i do.

I had my test drive yesterday. The car drives beautifully.

The Sales Concierge did not have any more info on the towing package. He was surprised by the 50 kg limit listed in the manual. He was supposed to follow-up, but he has not so far. It is surprising that a car advertised to tow 6,000 lbs. would not accommodate a standard bike rack with multiple bikes. This is unfortunately a showstopper for me.

Not surprised. I've been the one that has taught several showroom employees/SA's about this minimal weight bearing. lol It sucks but I'm also not willing to consider a mod or "going for it" with extra weight...not with a car costing this much and engineered so finely. I had wanted to use my cargo box but with the yakima swing away, that's like 100 pounds over their weight allowance. Seems so odd to be so low...maybe we'll get some new info as these cars live in the wild more. Or maybe not. lol
