I just want to make a new post because there is so much confusion around this (100% Lucid’s fault), but according to their website’s “compare” tool, even the base Dream Drive 2 gets active lane centering! This makes the vehicle much more approachable for so many people and the base price much more acceptable!

Lucid's early publicity introduced confusion among customers and salespeople alike about what was included in DD versus DDPro. I complained at the time that I thought I was getting lane centering with the base DD and Lucid did contact me to offer either the original $9000 price for DDPro or a discount of $500 on DDPremium. I took the latter, because I had doubts about their ability to deliver on DDPro. But they are catching up on DDPro to what they had originally promised. But, for me, folding active lane centering into DDPremium for Lucid Air owners would be enough to fully erase my lingering complaint about the issue.

They are clearly rectifying this issue with the Gravity and DD2, now that DDPro will have a clear set of differentiated features from DDPremium. Isn't it time to make early Air adopters a bit happier as well?

I do think that their completely outdated offerings were related to their being no early benefits to DDP, so since they couldn’t deliver hands free or any of the other features at the time, they just decontented their base offerings. Glad that they’re catching up with DDP so that they finally can make the base dream drive something that’s not downright embarrassing!

…or they listened to feedback and adjusted their sales process as a result.

I don’t know why everyone always jumps to cynicism here. My guess is they heard the feedback and are simply reacting to it; not that they surreptitiously wanted to anchor DDP and make “an extra 6k per car” or whatever the difference was.

We’re all just guessing though.

I guess I am an idiot, but I still find it very confusing. I was told by SA and Lucid service folks that only DDPro would give me TACC and lane centering. I don’t need hands off, but my wife is used to FSD, so lane centering and TACC (which lucid was calling highway assist) are key.

If I don’t need lane changing or hands off, can I get DDPremium instead? I actually dropped a Gravity VIN because original order was premium and they insisted only pro would do as I described….

Since forum folk know more than Lucid, any clarity would be appreciated.
