Perhaps a bit early, but we’re starting to get enough owners here to maybe get a sense of what (hopefully small) things could be better/different. I’m not talking about bugs or things that we know/ assume will be changed with software updates. I’m wondering about things like: are the side mirrors too small, is the HUD distance too far, would a digital rearview mirror be helpful, is the squircle quirky, etc.?

Any thoughts from owners?

She is prefect just the way she is.

1) Honestly the roof. All the glass lets in a ton of heat in south Florida under a hot sun. It strains the AC and the top of your head feels warm on long drives. I’ve driven the car 400 miles in two days. It feels like I have two climate zones. My chest and below and then my head. My head is hot and my hands are cold…. And combine this with the vent fans which are hard to point up to the roof. Unfortunately the lucid store is OOS on the roof shades.
2) a key fob that doesn’t eat batteries.
3) the microphone. Calls sound terrible. Not sure if a software update will address this or not. Lots of extra noise apparently and it sounds muffled to people on the line.
4) everything else seems well designed. I’ll stay away from software updates. These will happen and can lead to improvements without design changes.

I’m sure there are a few other items that bother people as well - but it’s so hot I can’t think! lol.

I don't own one yet, but I would add based on my experience with the test cars:

  • The 2nd row motors are a bit loud and sound like either they're cheap, geared incorrectly, or overly strong for what they need to do.
  • Would love to have an option for a stronger tow hitch that can handle more hitch weight, even if it cost a bit more and wasn't removable
  • Blue as an exterior color option :D

Agreed that for the most part they seem to have knocked the ball out of the park. Lovely car.

I think they need to figure out seating options for vertically challenged drivers. :)

At first I didn't get that you meant the seat motors.

I was going to say, there is NOTHING wrong with either of the motors that make this car go. Pretty much all aspects of the actual driving dynamics are spot on perfect.

The seat motors, yeah. I see what you mean. They are a bit noisy. And while I don't personally think I'd have a problem with pulling down and putting back up the seats, they are a bit heavy and stiff for a smaller person.

I think they’re definitely fine, just not as perfected as the rest of the car. I wouldn’t use them much and they wouldn’t bother me; but maybe if you use them every day if you have 4 or more kids.

New 2025 Lucid Air Touring Owner: Feedback on dead space and practicality
1. Center console design in poor: Storage space and USB ports need reconfiguration along with cup holders.
2. Front side door storage compartment to be redesigned. TBC…

1) Agree that the second-row seat motors are worryingly loud.
2) The 3rd-row seat mechanism is just too wonky. It doesn't move smoothly, it catches on other things, and clearly it was a serious compromise on stowability vs. mechanism size/weight vs. seat usability. Maybe this was the right balance, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna break one of these.
3) Ship with matte/oleophobic screen coating on the pilot panel (and maybe the main console)
4) Some sort of retention mechanism for the wireless charging pads. A sudden stop slides the phones forward and off the Qi charging point.
5) I wish the massaging seats were even stronger. They're already way nicer than anything I've had in a car before. But, like, if they were Japanese massage chair strong...
6) Exterior frunk button would be nice, as would a handsfree trunk mechanism
7) 100W for the 2nd-row USB-C ports. 2nd row passengers use laptops, and a MacBook Pro needs more than 45W. (Yes, the 120V outlet is there, so it's not a big deal.)
