Lucid partnership

Biggest fear/issue here is Lucid can’t make anywhere near enough Gravity right now for US and KSA. Anything that takes them away from Gravity ramp for normal buyers is a concern. They also really need to focus and spend on lower priced models…

20,000 over 6 years is just over 3000 cars a year. Will hardly be taking away huge numbers from normal buyers.

The issues with the ramp up at the moment have nothing to do with factory capacity but they’re parts constrained. Those issues should be well and truly sorted by the time this deal starts.

That’s fair re: 3,000/year but I don’t think we know, except for HUD and plugs, that they’re parts constrained. Their CEO did say they’ve unclogged parts of the supply chain on Bloomberg the other day. We shall see.

It’s more than HUD and Plugs. Parts for the booster were/are also a problem. It’s why the cars went to KSA first over US.

The CEO also said in an interview about the partnership that they aren't really anticipating this service starting until the end of 2026... plenty of time to ramp up and secure enough parts. I also suspect it will be a small test fleet in one city when it does start.
