Tbh have some reservations about owning cars perceived to be "taxi" vehicles.

they will be very high tech .. I worry about EVs that are rental cars because they buy low-end cars and give the renters a terrible rental experience. in this case the cars will be super high-tech and will hopefully expose many people to the lucid brand with an amazing experience. with that high-tech image in a class-leading vehicle, I don't have that reservation at all, and I am sensitive to it. I believe it'll really help all of those brands in a game-changing way.

This is promising news for Lucid, in terms of visibility, sales, and investment into the vehicles and company. From a societal perspective, though, I have to wonder: would we be better off if Uber just bought 20,000 Gravitys and hired humans to drive them? We wouldn't be pushing/testing the AI the technology, but Lucid would get their sales and visibility, many people would get jobs, ridesharing would be more appealing, Uber would gain customers and ride sales . . . I work with AI and I'm not opposed to it as a technology, but let's consider what problems we are trying to solve and where we want to go as a society.

Right every Airport Taxi or executive limo service is a black Navigator, Tahoe, Yukon Denail or Escalade. IE Gas sucking 7 seven SUV.

I was very glad to get this news today. My determination to stay long on LCID hasn’t wavered until the lease return thread.

Disturbing to see BOA run roughshod over everyone returning their cars and it seems to continue unabated.

I’d pay a premium to ride in a Gravity rideshare vehicle and this does seem to bode well for advancing Lucid’s autonomous capabilities.

With the stock now up 42% any thoughts from the group on what this means for the brand? In any way does it "cheapen" the brand to hail a Lucid with your Uber app?

I do see this strengthening sales down the road as this rolls out, which is vital....but how might it change perception? "High tech partnership" = Positive or "Lucid = rideshare to the airport" = negative.

Lucid was never gonna make it long term as a luxury-only brand. It needed some "cheapening", if by that we mean more visibility and broader reach. That's also the goal of the smaller/cheaper model next year.

It takes sales volume to survive, and you can't do that with only $80k+ vehicles.

Nice release. Good for Lucid. Kind of irrelevant right now as the ramp is so slow. Why can’t they use the Air? I don’t see folks piling into the third row of the Gravity…I’d say the tray tables would be nice in a robotaxi but the Gravity manual explicitly states they should NOT be used when car is in motion. Of course, that’s just the necessary legal disclaimer.

I was glad to hear the news. I do own a Lucid and also own a substantial amount of shares. I was a little disappointed, however, to hear that they are not using the Lucid hardware that is already integrated into the vehicles. After all, we were told that the hardware supports level 4 autonomous, so they shouldn't need something on top of it. Being from a software/hardware engineering background, I do understand that it's faster to start the integration with Nuro's hardware, but I was hoping that they would integrate into Lucid hardware rather than what I'm hearing which is they will start integrating the Nuro hardware into Lucid. So if there will be two sets of hardware in the future (Lucid for owners, and Nuro for Uber), then it will not help Lucid to bring scale and therefore improve their cost per vehicle. And it would probably not help bring the fully autonomous features faster to us owners who paid $9K for DreamDrive Pro. I know Lucid is supposed to have a hands-free software update end of July, but I'm sure that'll still be a far cry from entering the destination and have it get you there like Tesla has.

When did Lucid say the hardware supports Level 4? When I bought my GT in Oct '22, it said the hardware could support Level 3.

Lucid never promised Level 4. In the early days they said future ready for Level 3 but they've stopped saying that for quite some time now.

Chinese cars look off to me....they may have great user tech, but they dont have the crash safety, ride,handling of the Germans and definetly not the Lucid. They are not sophisticated. Lucid is slowly turning into a non-speculative stock. This is the time to buy.

Any car you buy today DOES NOT have the " full effective" capability of a level 4/5 autonomy. Doesn't matter what the automaker says. It's quite obvious the tech wont be ready in a regular car for at least another decade. You need Waymo type sensors for it to work right now. When these will be integrated in car you or I can buy, who kwows.....
