Over a week with Gravity, my thoughts

I'm in the media business. This stuff is hard to do--especially with limited resources. The vid is great. We should all be happy that we have some real first-person info about ownership rather than spending energy criticizing minor details. Well done HC!

So glad that @HC_79 lent his GDE to a reviewer and we got some content. Seriously, he is an owner and put himself out there. I really liked the video, and it was informative and touched on a lot of points. Someone else will make a review, and someone else after that will make another.

No one video should do it all, because honestly who wants to watch a 4hr video going into minute detail. (Although the Lucid learning series was fantastic, and wish they made another, I don’t think this sold cars unfortunately)

Anyways, all this said thanks @HC_79 seeing how amazed you are with the vehicle, when you’ve had a rocky road with you Dream Edition… tells me that this is going to be a winner. 🏆

Wow, I'm speechless...oh wait apparently not as speechless as this person.

“Just watched the video, and I am essentially speechless.
The intro was all about the frunk, the third row
I imagine sitting there with a 140k hole in your pocket, raving about the frunk
It also has 1070hp, which I guess is not even worth mentioning, cause in the world of minivans, nobody even drives right?
Something is wrong with the marketing if frunk gets all the attention and essentially the power, handling and braking performance don’t even get a mention!I think EVs have spoiled some of the performance hopes and dreams as the crazy limits of super cars became accessible as far as acceleration in all random vehicles as heavy as 10,000lbIt’s a nice video, but for 140k
I don’t want to hear about the frunk first or even 5th”
I wonder how it feels to be that person that feels they must go in and shit all over everyone else’s enthusiasm.

@HC_79 I just showed my dad and some other family members your video of the Gravity and they all thought it looked amazing and are excited for me to get it cuz then we can fit them and our kid all in one vehicle for family trips.

@HC_79 I asked the question below a couple of months ago. See image #1. Any feedback from you?
Any feedback from GDE/GGT owners is also appreciated.
@borski provided a response. See image #2.

Don’t think I’ve seen that or haven’t paid attention to it. It appears in the area where the brake hold symbols comes up which is green also, maybe it’s that but not sure

OK.
The Owner's Manual provides some information.
It provides the examples of "at highway speeds" and hard braking, but doesn't indicate other instances.

The words "if regenerative braking is adequately slowing your vehicle" are subjective.
Sounds like each situation will be different in determining adequacy.

Just curious.
I'd like to have some knowledge to help determine predictability in general.
For those also wondering, I suppose we'll learn by experience.
Thanks.

I’m assuming this functions like in the Air, it will display on the dash the brake lights on/off if you’re using Drive Assist. Otherwise it may not. It’s ok though, I’ve driven behind other airs and the brake lights work great when slowing like you would in other cars. They definitely turn on without fully taking your foot off the accelerator pedal.

There is no brake indicator during normal drive, but like @Bunnylebowski said, there is one during drive assist
Yep.
I recall that feature being added with OTA Update 2.6.0.
Hopefully, a request like the one mentioned by @Bobby will result in additional improvements.

My interest is really more about the activation of the rear exterior brake lights to notify drivers behind me.
I'm not worried though. Eventually, for me, this will be a matter of understanding how deceleration/braking with an ev is somewhat different than with an ICE.
I'm sure you're aware of the articles online that reference the issue.
Part of the learning curve for me.

The wording in the Brake section of the Owner's Manual ("if regenerative braking is adequately slowing your vehicle") allude to the key role that regen braking plays.
Perhaps the EU regulation that @DeaneG mentioned here will be used by Lucid.

So... Anyone done a real world range test in a Gravity yet? Curious how close to 450 anyone has gotten?

@HC_79, looks like it's been a little warm out your way! How's the air-conditioning and glass roof stacking up?

The AC works well in my opinion, but I’ve also installed the sunshades in the roof. The airflow feels a little stronger/cooler than the air and you have a little more flexibility in the vent positioning for airflow. Hopefully the keep mode/creature comfort is fixed sooner rather than later though :)

I also think there’s more clearance between your head and the roof so that helps in not feeling the heat directly on your head also.

The AC in the Gravity seems like it's 2x as good as the Air IMO, but that's just me =)

Yeah, I’d agree with that.

Wait - the creature mode isn’t working? Is that a broad issue or issue for you? I think I asked that a week or two ago and an owner responded it was working. Don’t meant to blow this up, but I drive with my dog everywhere, so I need that mode more than almost anything!

Even if not working yet, I assume there's a remote start/climate option that stays on for a while. In our Mach-E I can go up to 30 minutes, in our Macan EV 60 minutes. I wonder what it is in the Gravity?

the creature mode for me isn't working. Remote climate works wonderfully, it's a minor annoyance for those quick trips in and out where you would want to just turn on keep mode and go do your errand. For longer time away, remote climate does the job.

Are the third row vents working for anyone? I feel like they're maybe not connected in software...

Mine were when I checked over a week ago. You sure the rear climate is on? It’s usually off unless someone is sitting in the back or you manually turn it on.
