So, I've been a day-one reservation holder for a GT, switched to a DE two days after the announcement (as soon as I saw they decontented the GTs), and have been patiently, anxiously, waiting for updates from my advisor. Two weeks ago, he said I was assigned a factory production batch number, whatever that means, and that he thought it would be built within the next eight weeks. Last week, I reached out to see if there had been any change; there had not, not surprisingly. Today, I reached out again to follow up, and I'm getting impatient, but only because of all the videos that have been released lately. He said it didn't appear that my configuration would be built soon. He stated he had some unassigned vehicles if I was interested - absolutely. Unfortunately, none of those were close enough for me to want (Black exterior, or platinum trim - which I did not know they were building).
Disappointingly, I said we would leave the Dream Edition and continue the wait.
About 3 hours later, I get a call back from my advisor. He said he had something for me... Yesterday, a GT was built to my exact spec (my original spec, in fact), but not the Dream edition. We scooped it up, and it is now assigned to me!! The best part is that it comes with the technology package included, so I don't miss out on features like the HUD or dynamic lighting.
I'll miss the raw power and being able to dust a new Rivian Quad on the interstate, but I'm okay saving a bit over $15k!
Just excited, and had to share because no one else, wife, friends, kids, etc. will understand my excitement...
