Bluetooth Audio Device/App list

When go to the Bluetooth source, it displays a list of available audio apps from my Android phone (Pixel 8Pro), but it only includes random audio/
media apps like SoundCloud, Scanner Radio and VLC.

But it never sees any of the top-tier music apps I have installed that I'm likely to actually want to listen to, like YouTube Music, Pandora, or PlexAmp.

Am missing something or is this a shortcoming on Lucid's side, or on Google's side, or on the app mak side?

I don't know what any of that is, but I'm also pretty confident none of it matters. If your phone is connected with Bluetooth, the car doesn't have to be (and isn't) aware of what the phone is playing. Whatever apps you play music with on your phone, the audio just comes out through the car.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I have no problem getting my music apps to okay music over Bluetooth.

It's just frustrating because of my music app is closed, it doesn't automatically start when I connect to the car Bluetooth like it did in previous vehicles.

Then I see that the car sorta supports some method for showing and starting apps on the phone, except it doesn't include any of the apps I usually use.

Such means that just about ever time I get in my car, I have to open up my phone, and manually start my music app before I can get the audio through the car's Bluetooth.

Of course this would all be moot if we had AA, but still waiting on that...

Gotcha. Yeah, that's just not something Android (or iOS) do via Bluetooth, nothing Lucid can do about it. Hopefully an AA-shaped gift shows up soon to solve the problem.

Then why is it able to show me a list of SOME of the audio apps (eg. VLC, Scanner radio).

It's got to be getting that list from somewhere.

Car stereos often support a limited set of Bluetooth profiles, like A2DP (for audio streaming) and AVRCP (for remote control of the music).

Some apps might not be built to use these specific profiles, meaning the car's Bluetooth won't recognize or control them.

If an app doesn't utilize the necessary profiles, it might not show up in the car's Bluetooth interface, but you can still use it from the phone and stream the audio as iOS or Android has default profiles.

That's what I was going to say. Also it's more of an android quirk than a Lucid one that whatever audio stream you had playing last is what will play in the car. There's no per say "default" app that Lucid will auto play from knowing that is the preferred app on the device. If I have YouTube running last, that's what it's going to auto play.
