I just got locked out of my Lucid AT. I leave my key fob in the car all the time. I never take it out. Nor should I ever have to take it out. Especially since I have the lucid app (mobile key) on my phone. And, there should be Geo-fencing so that when I get out of my car to grab my mail from the mailbox, and my phone is sitting on my car seat I should not get locked out. It should recognize that, if my mobile key (my iphone) is within the car itself, it should never lock the car unless I were to force it to lock in the app cuz maybe I pulled over and I’m taking a nap and want security. This is messed up. With all the technology available, this should be an easy fix. Tesla got it right. I am ready to give up my lucid and go back to a Tesla because I never got locked out of my Tesla ever ever ever ever!!!

Are you serious 😂 !

It might be the reason your phone Bluetooth going into sleep

The easy fix if you get locked out is to log in to Lucid app using a different phone and unlocking the car or

Keeping the key card with you

Or keeping the fob in the key chain

I think you are overreacting for something that could happen to any car for any reason
And if it does happen the solutions are easy

Keep the key card in your wallet. And don't leave the fob in the car.
If you can borrow a phone, Lucid Customer Service may be able to unlock your car remotely.

Key Fob, My Wallet w Key Card and phone ALL in my Lucid. Not overacting. This is the 32nd time it’s happened!!!! And that’s only cuz I started counting more recently!!!!
It does not happen in my GMC AT4, my wife’s KIA Telluride and all my previous vehicles—BMWs, Benz’s, Audis, Toyota, Lexus—-shall I go on??? Doors should stay unlocked until it senses no activity for at least one minute. Then a window should pop up on my iPhone telling me doors are unlocked and asking me what I like to lock the doors? If I do not respond, the doors should stay unlocked…. Again, if the phone is in the car and the phone is turned on, and the app is on, the doors should not lock. No ifs ands or butts about it.

I understand your frustration. In general, you shouldn't carry both the phone as a mobile key, and the fob. One or the other. The car has key-reception dead zones in its interior, just as it does around its exterior. It's not safe to leave a key in the car for this reason. The cupholder area is one of them. Key behavior inside the car can be unpredictable.

Lol, on Tesla. I accidentally locked my toddler in my Model S the first week I had it because I closed the front door before I opened the back and left the key in the cupholder. Learned real quick not to do that again. Is there any reason you keep repeating your mistake instead of trying to find a solution?

A car should never, ever auto-lock with a key in the car, while not responding to unlock, plain and simple.

Of course a ton of people here will tell you how it was your fault, you should have a backup, etc.

It is really silly and "stooped" at the end of the day - no other brand self-apologizes for this silliness.

I think I'll call it "Lucidibation" from now on. It's really rather silly the ends folk go to justify their purchases.

My cars with fobs from the early 2000s knew not to lock the car when a fob was inside it - this is pretty basic tech that is not complicated at all. The more complex stuff car makers want to add in shows how they can forget that some solutions are out there looking for a problem. This should never happen, and you can’t just accept that the cupholder is a dead spot.

2007 Corvette here. locks every time I walk away, unlocks when I open it. Has never ever locked itself in 18 years. Must be some kind of George Bush era magic.

You just should not have to think about this stuff, nor worry about where and how it will go wrong.

The Air has some quirks with locking and unlocking. It's the #1 topic on this forum. You can:
  • Complain endlessly
  • Figure out how to make it work for you
  • Find a car that suits your jones better

Exactly. Thats why I’m gonna get rid of it and find a car that suits me better.

forgot D): be a fanboy and deflect every mention of it telling you to take it in for service.

It's D that sort of lights my fuse - cmon folk be realistic - the car sucks in this tiny little area but is brilliant elsewhere... be seemingly it is verboten to raise that topic and everyone needs to jump on the new guy that asks it and tell them to take it in for service?

Really???
