Hi, I was really excited to earn 51,000 points because I was hoping to use them for the referral program’s all-inclusive tours to the HQ or factory. Unfortunately, it looks like they no longer offer that option.

What’s the best way to use the points now? I’m considering buying 5–10 charging stations and trying to sell them on eBay. Do you think that would work? I’m not interested in any of the accessories from their marketplace.
Thanks

The tours are still available on some occasions, just keep watching. They are no longer all inclusive so ypu have to provide your own transportation and hotel. They are also only 10,000 points now.

If you try to sell chargers on ebay you may not make much money, especially since Lucid will send you a W2 for $0.125 for every point used in the referral rewards store.

I’ve been monitoring for over 7 months, and still no all-inclusive options.
I’m from Florida, so those 10,000 point tours aren’t useful for me that 50k deal would’ve been perfect.
Regarding W2, are you saying if I use 50k points they will send me taxable income of $6250?

I did the factory tour a couple of weeks ago. It was an excellent tour and well worth the points and time.

There is literally a 10,000 point factory tour available now with a date of June 26th. Go get it!

In this case Lucid is overcharging accessories purchased with points. I purchased glass canopy sunshades for 1600 points which comes to $200 if i count each point as 0.125 but it costs only $170 if purchased from store. Am i missing something.

They need to open up the rewards program to use points for new/extra tires and other features that one may not have purchased with the car, e.g. cameras and audio packages, would be my recommendation.

I agree they should add more.

Just to be clear, you’re responsible for the *tax* on the points you use, not the points themselves, as the points count as income when used. So you’d still come out ahead by using the 1600 pts rather than paying $170, but it does change the math somewhat.

Yes it’s a benefit over paying full price but still not much.
Example: Tax on $200 is $60
Paid $30 more than dollar price. So instead of paying $170 a reward member is paying $90 for this item. So less than 50% discount.

So to OP, if you are selling the products in ebay, you need to at-least sell them at 56% to 58% before shipping and fee to break even 🙂

In this case Lucid is kind of false advertising the point value ☹️
Don't use them then and just pay $170 out of your own pocket. Not like you got the points for free...... oh wait, you did.

My bad, its only tax we pay not the $30 additional 🙂

I am just saying they are not honoring the points value what they say.

They are honoring the points as valued at precisely $0.125, which is precisely what the points are valued at.

Also, if you spend less than $600 worth of points (aka 4800 points), you won't get a 1099, so those are literally free as in beer.
