Gravity Test Drive writeup

When I mentioned that I was set up for a test drive tomorrow (Saturday), the Lucid employee said that the test drive wouldn't allow for me to go on the highway. I mentioned that I had heard that the route was up the highway one exit and back on side roads and they said "Yes, we saw that posted and don't know why they said that". Ummm, huh?

I'm going to ignore the fact that she implied that the OP was not telling the truth, but did anyone more recently than the OP get to take it on the highway?

I should also add that the same employee said that they have no word on why the HUD is not being available on GT and speculation about supply chains and such would be premature (I didn't mention any of that, she proactively told me not to speculate about something I hadn't even brought up) - another indication that she wasn't well informed about any of this.
Bizarre... I promise you i didn't make up going on Hwy 280 from winchester to Saratoga. Maybe they modified the route later, or maybe we did a different route as we had a little extra time. Anthony was my rep who rode with me.

I truly had an incredible experience — WHAT A CAR! Just WOW. Gravity is absolutely going to be a benchmark. Huge kudos to the engineers and their hard work; they clearly put great attention into every detail to deliver such an exceptional experience.
The squircle steering wheel? Not an issue at all. I drive with my hands at 3 and 9, and it felt natural within a minute. People talk about German cars for handling — but after Gravity, they’ll be talking about American cars for handling, luxury, and tech.

Luxury isn’t just the car — it’s the whole experience. The staff were professional and welcoming, even late in the day. Claire was especially patient and professional, helping me understand the car thoroughly in just the 20 minutes we had.
As always, I loved talking cars with Anthony. He’s actually the one who first got me hooked on Lucid! We had a great chat about the new features and different aspects of the car — it’s always a pleasure.
I had a wonderful experience with Lucid before with the Air, and it continues with Gravity with improvements. Anthony, Claire, and the entire team were just awesome.
I’m sure that once you drive it and experience it for yourself, you’ll only want more.

Lucid truly is the best — car, customer experience, everything. Five stars.

We did surface streets only. I was disappointed, but understand the reason for this limitation. There will be more opportunities for longer drives later.

did the drive yesterday in San Jose and we had a set surface street loop, which did not include the highway. there was a small straight section where they recommended to try out Sprint mode.

No highway in our test drive either.
Seriously…just buy the Dragy and bury it for a quarter, 12 seconds acceleration and then around 75mph just drop the brakes down as if your favorite pet is on the road and give us some stopping data. For science!

Had a Less than 10 minutes test drive, surface roads with essentially no turns. Max speed limit 35. Was able to appreciate exactly zero of the famed driving dynamics. Honestly was mostly a waste of time.

My drive was around 10 minutes as well, but I'm so used to my Air, and have seen so many gushing reviews, that I was mainly looking for build quality and my own comfort over pushing the car's dynamics.

Same as others just reported. Less than 10 minutes, surface streets only. My time slot was 1:40. I got there around 1:30 and they said maybe 30 minute wait. There were maybe 4 people ahead of me, but they didn't call me up until almost 3. Then I got maybe 10 minutes and they were ferrying the next group in. I'm not sure what happened to cause all of that delay and short drive.

Anybody else get a die-cast car that has damage on its roof? I pulled it out of the box right away and noticed it and they looked to give me a new one, but they were all damaged the same way - scratches in the paint on the roof. Hopefully not an omen...

Any comments on the rear view mirror?
I assume it’s optical.
Hope it’s not the same compressed view like in the Air.
Was driving our ICE car tonight and was just plain happy to have clear view of the cars in the back.

I saw the Gravity at the December delivery but haven't driven one. Your write-up convinced me to place an order.
Probably the only one in last 24 hours  but doing my part to support Lucid.
Will also ask to delay until HUD is available.
Good work.. one small step as they say. Now buy some stock Amd convince two others to buy

Borski all knowledgeable…. All I care about is freeway noise, I know this thing will be amazing with seating room etc etc etc but nobody has said anything about noise at 75-85 mph. The air isn’t the best, on a cross head wind it can get very loud as any road tripper can attest. Please help anyone ( borski) who has one or a home lucky enough to drive one of freeway for a bit. It’s my single largest concern

Went today at 11 and got a full 20 minute test drive but they were behind by at least on slot for us. So maybe they shortened the times after ours to get it back on schedule. Also surface streets only.

Interesting you mentioned the Yosemite interior. I have had White interiors in my X and Y and the Lucid “White” was very different. It’s kind of blue. My wife and daughter said it looked cheap so it has me second guessing. It did look a little dingy compared to Tesla’s pure White interiors. But I like the fact that it doesn’t get as hot as Black and I’ve never been a fan of Brown interiors.

Also, that little speed form gift is super dense.

It's very quiet. I'll pull out my decibel meter in the next day or two.

Every time I go to pick it up I fail on the first try. Not because it's too heavy to lift, but because it is so far outside the expected weight that I'd believe for something that small that I'm never prepared for it.

Not my fault, my test drive was scheduled for 10am. We got in the Gravity at 9:45-9:50am, adjusted the mirrors and were back again at 10am, when my drive was scheduled to start.
