Lucid Audio Experience AMA (March 11, 2025)

Since I primarily drive alone, I set the balance to be further back and to the right. Every couple days the sound goes back to dead center. As soon as I re-open the Balance settings page I hear it switch back to what I saved. How do we get this to permanently stay where I saved it?
In case it matters, I have Surreal Sound Pro.

In addendum to Last ICE, was just curious if you could share the volume control linearity or response? I have not been able to actually use max volume without damaging ears or speakers. I noticed from strange looks the other day as I was driving through a quiet neighborhood that the volume is capable of leaking quite a way outside the car. I usually set it to about 1/4 or 1/3 and this gives very clear music and overcomes all the minor wind and road noise.

On some Lucid forums it was reported that the hardware systems for Surreal Sound and SS Pro are identical, it is just a software switch that turns on the extra speakers. Is that accurate?

Can you provide a cheat sheet for first time set up that maximizes sound? I only saw 3 options in the equalizer. I have the sound pro version. Thank you.

How many true subwoofers are in the Gravity? And where are they located?

Is there consideration of including hall acoustic models? Making the interior behave like the acoustics a "a jazz club", etc.?

What's happening regarding streaming audio stability/recovering from network dropout spots? (Example: Spotify and Sirius (that I use continuously) will stop/sometime indicate a network problem, and never recover. Spotify just goes blank. Sirius sometimes says 'pick another channel'. Neither returns until a park/off cycle or a reboot.)

Thank you. This may be off topic, but I use Tidal as my main music interface. Every time I turn the car off, Tidal reverts to the beginning of a Playlist, not keeping a "tag" where I left off. Also, several times music will not play once the car is started regardless of the medium. It requires turning the car off and back k on.

Will there be any sound correction if the front of the vehicle the rear sounds great. To elaborate the front sounds like am radio the rear has nice clear mids and crispy highs

Here's a feature suggestion very common in higher-end cars: when the car first 'starts' the volume should take a second or so to achieve the full set volume. This keeps people from getting their ears blasted if they had it cranked up the last time they were listening and forgot to turn it down before leaving the car. Has happened to me multiple times and can scare the passengers.

Can we increase the audio quality of BT streams from an android phone? Right now I think it allows only 44.1 AAC 16 bits. Will higher bitrate or other codecs be implemented in the future? (not sure if the phone is limiting or the car). Current sound on AAC is very good I would say (SSP). TIA and thanks for doing this session!

Bob, when you joined the team last fall the Lucid audio system had a "studio" feel regarding the volume. The center roller volume wheel took a lot of input to get to a good listening volume and it seemed like about 70% volume as indicated on the display was when the system came alive. In recent updates, it appears that that trend has disappeared and the volume is more conventional with the gains. Is that something you have been working on?

What do you think is the biggest challenge is to get the audio reproduction to the next level?

• The placement of the drivers
• The quality of the drivers
• Signal processing
• The "infinite baffle" of the single rear subwoofer
• A single tune that works for many different listeners

Will there be any effort to add YouTube Music natively on the car?

My preference is the resonance of the bass frequency that can trigger vibrations from objects like my loose clothes or even my body feeling the bass resonance. To me, great music is not just about the "loudness" but the resonance of the bass that I can "feel." In the meantime, what's the possibility of Lucid providing a better equalizer +/- 12dB user adjustable bands with an additional one for a subwoofer boost? Thanks!

I am curious to any tuning needed on the audio system on both Gravity and Air with respect to the steel roof vs glass roof. Acoustically when I was in a GT loaner with Glass roof you could tell there was more reflection of noise, whereas a Alcantara roof liner does absorb better.
