Hi, everyone.

The “Ask Me Anything” with the Lucid Audio team is now in session. I am here with Bob Windel, Technical Fellow and Audio Tuning Engineer; and Colin Mosgrove, Audio Product Manager.

For the next two hours, we will be answering your questions regarding audio tuning in your Lucid vehicle, specifically Surreal Sound and Surreal Sound Pro. Many of our owners admitted audiophiles, so we are also hoping to have a fun discussion about music in general and what your go-to playlists are.

We are looking forward to the conversation!

Marqie

Just a note: We will be deleting any questions that are off-topic. This AMA is specifically centered around audio.

Just a general question on audio levels. I have a Dream Edition P and I feel like with windows down the stereo (usually listening to Spotify through CarPlay) barely gets loud enough to overcome road/wind noise. I don't know how much power the stereo produces, but I am surprised by the lack of volume. Am I missing something?

1. What's the physics behind how the recent hardware modification performed by service led to the massive increase in bass volume?
2. Do you notice the high-pitched noise emitted by the window switch LEDs?

Recently I went to turn wifi (not bluetooth) off in my iphone and I got a message warning me that the Lucid CarPlay would be disconnected. Does CarPlay use bluetooth or wifi?

First of all, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to answer questions about the Lucid audio system!

Besides the obvious difference in the number of speakers and extra channels for the Dolby Atmos system with SSP is there a noticeable tune difference between SS and SSP? In other words is it your goal to have both systems have a similar sound signature or is the SSP system designed to have a "premium" sound signature even when listening to stereo tracks?

Any plans to support Spatial Audio in CarPlay?

Unlike most people, my 2023 with SSP has very prominent, sometimes overwhelming bass. The Lucid tech tightened something up, and I turned it down in the equalizer but it's still pretty disproportionate at times. Any thoughts?

I prefer to start audio on my terms when I get into the vehicle. Right now the last station I was listening to starts playing when I enter the vehicle. How can I prevent that from happening?

Thank you for offering up this topic-specific AMA.

Any planned changes for base Surreal Sound (non-Pro) to improve the base system's performance?

Is anyone working on updating the Tidal app? If it is lucid, are they working on it? If it is Tidal, will they do anything to improve it? It is incredibly short on search functions and features. Far inferior to the app on our phones. In fact, the only way to make it really useful is to create your own playlist on the phone app. While you can use the phone app through CarPlay, you don’t get the high resolution audio that way.

I have the Surreal Sound Pro on a 2025 Touring and experiencing a glitch in which the balance does not remain adjusted. I have to re-open the balance module for it to revert back each time I get in the car. I have rebooted multiple times to no avail.

I will be responding to questions on behalf of the team, but Bob wanted to say, "Hey!"
