Sometimes I can't initiate the charge through my EA app. Is there any way to prevent plug and charge through Lucid so that I could use my EA account to pay for charging?
Why are you using the EA app when it can be all handled through the Lucid App?Sometimes I can't initiate the charge through my EA app. Is there any way to prevent plug and charge through Lucid so that I could use my EA account to pay for charging?
Per @marqie Post in thread 'EA Megathread'To use the EA pass discount.
...and I take it that the rate you are being charged through Lucid is higher, or you wouldn't be wanting to switch. I have not activated the Lucid Charging - Base Plan, so I can't see the details, but does it allow you to select which vendors to run through their infrastructure, such that you could just turn EA off? Or, does it allow you to enter any specific vendor discount codes into their system? I can see why they might not have the former, because you would not be plugging into their charger if you didn't want to use them, but it seems like the latter option should have been built in, or that Lucid should have pre-arranged a comparable rate plan discount. Sorry. Grasping at straws here.Initiation with the EA android app is spotty for me. Sometimes it'll initiate fine and I get charged through the EA app. Other times it'll hang at the initiation screen and I would have to plug in first to begin the charging and get charged through Lucid.
Just talked to CS and they said that removing the cc from the Lucid wallet should remove the plug and charge. I couldn't remove the subscription plan from the upgrade section however as there was no option. I'll try and charge in a couple of days to see if this works.
In my case I couldn't get the app to initiate with the charger first. Some stations worked fine but others I had issues. The app kept hanging at the initializing screen after I selected the charger I wanted to use. Thus I was only left with one option to charge and that was to plug in first.
Since I have removed my credit card from my Lucid account wallet, which allowed me to plug in first without using Lucid's plug and charge enabling me to use my EA+ account when plugging in first. Lucid will add the option for the EA+ in the near future to allow for member charging price with its plug and charge. Till then I'll just plug in and use the NFC scan to charge.
My guess is that they won't match the EA discount exactly. Slight arbitrage to pay for the development of the feature as well as value in the convenience. They were thinking this year and there's still half the year left. It's also not that complex to implement, mostly about the pricing and negotiation with ea and solid testing as it's a payment function. I think it'll be a great winner when it comes out.Define “near future”!. I have been following this thread, since I am interested (just like you, would like to use the EA+ charging plan, with the 25% discount), and nothing has been accomplished by Lucid yet. My guess is they have bigger fish to fry, and this is not a priority.
I hate to whine, but here is the math:
Regular EA rate through Lucid’s plug & charge “plan” around here is $0.56 per kWh
With the EA+ plan is $0.42 per kWh.
Charging my Air Touring from 20% to 80% is roughly 55 kWh.
Savings: $7.70
EA+ plan is $7 per month. Essentially, pays for itself with one charge. You can pay for those long road trips for the plan, one moth, then cancel, until next road trip
Happy to report that since I’ve removed my credit card from the Lucid wallet I am able to plug in first, then scan the NFC on my phone the get the EA+ discount. I use the EA all the time to charge. It isn’t as nice as the plug and charge but it is a workaround that will you some money if you super charge a lot. You can also scan your NFC first before plugging in to get the EA+ discount. Sometimes that didn’t work for me.Define “near future”!.
