I've been a fan of the Sapphire wheel, unfortunately they don't fit the regular Air (and they are 20/21, not 21/21).

A few months ago, I was referred to a new company called Duxpur Performance Forged, and I decided to try them out.

After I placed an order, they immediately contacted me to confirm the specifications and finishing. 2 days later, they provided the full specification details and rendering. Definitely a unique process for producing a wheel!

I think the pricing is great for a fully forged wheel. I paid $2,650 shipped to my doorstep in about 7-8 weeks. Ordered on July 24th and recieved them on Sep 16th ( $800 extra if you want them in 4-5 weeks, but I'm not in rush so I opt in with regualr price)

Here's the link to the wheel https://duxpur.com/products/oe-109

Now I need to find a bear decal or Lucid logo to complete this setup.

Here are the size and offset if anyone is interested. They fit perfectly flush and no rubbing at all.

Interesting. That’s look cool.
Are you still on Pirelli stock tires for those 21” rims ? What’s the hit on the range ?

Looks great - congrats on being the first to do this!

I had a set of budget tire 245 and goodyear 265/35/21 from my older Model S laying aorund, so I just use them for now. Will be back on the P zero once these wear out.

Range defrintly got a hit compare to 19", but it's only for short commute so not a big issue for me.

Why don't the Sapphire wheels fit? Is it because of the offset due to the widebody of the Sapphire?

The Sapphire has fender flares to account for the additional width of the tires:

See above each tire? Here'a a DE for comparison:

Those flares are why the Sapphire wheels/tires don't fit.

@borski, yes, but those fender flares are simply added on to the existing body, no? In other words, the non-sapphire body lines and fender opening is still there, but made visually wider with the attached fender flared.

Under compression, would the tire not hit the wheel of the fender opening of the narrow bodied car? Curious.

I want to get the same wheels for my Air performance but want to move to a 20” wheel. Do you know what size wheel I would need for
Front: 245/40R20
Rear: 265/40R20

The Sapphire wheels are center lock wheels and cannot be mounted on a car with lug mounts without modification.

That sounds about right for the size for the 20" As long as you’re within a 3% difference in diameter compared to stock, you should be fine. I've seen others running a slightly taller diameter without any issues.

They are not center lock. I've seen a Sapphire running 5 lug aftermarket wheel.

The car you saw apparently had a conversion kit for those aftermarket wheels. That's why I said "without modification" in my post.

"Top Speed" and several other reviews have mentioned that the Sapphire has center lock wheels (https://www.topspeed.com/what-makes-the-lucid-air-sapphire-desirable/):

"Although looks are subjective, the Lucid Air Sapphire's looks will be liked by a majority of prospective buyers, thanks to the futuristic styling. This is enhanced by the fact that it gets super stylish and sporty wheels with a center lock."

And this is from the Pirelli website page on Sapphire tires. The Goodyear website has a similar page about the tires for a Sapphire center lock wheel, as do the websites for several tire vendors.
