CarPlay is here! - Megathread

a) Sometimes (not always), when I get into the car, the CarPlay does not automatically activate wirelessly. I have had to go to the settings icon and re highlight the yellow CarPlay icon under the devices tab to have it show up.
Happened to me once today. I had backed out of the garage, left the door cracked so the vehicle wouldn't incessantly lock and unlock while I was putting the EZSpare that just arrived in the sub-frunk space. Had to do the same thing you stated above to get CP to work.

If he uses google calendar it will go to google maps. I doubt Apple will ever have their products default to Google ;-)
Google calendar isn’t one of the apps that appear in the CarPlay display. I bet I have no control over that either. I tried Settings/General/CarPlay/vehicle/Customize. But there is no way to add apps other than the default. Thoughts?

I’ve been playing with CarPlay for a few hours. It seems I can’t get Spotify or TuneIn to work.

I got the update on Thursday. CarPlay works well over USB but doesn’t work wireless. Anyone else having that problem?

I've been enjoying CarPlay couple of days but I've run into 2 issues

a) Sometimes (not always), when I get into the car, the CarPlay does not automatically activate wirelessly. I have had to go to the settings icon and re highlight the yellow CarPlay icon under the devices tab to have it show up.

b) Sometimes, when CarPlay does come up, I press play on the music app screen and it refuses to play. I've had to stop and restart the CarPlay to work around this issue

Anyone else run into these issues?
Happen to me earlier today. CarPlay simply doesn't work. The car and the phone showed they are connected but Car play doesn't work at all. Went into connectivity and re-click on the AirPlay didn't work. witched profile didn't help either. To resolve it, I have to remove phone from connectivity setting and re added.

Never had luck with CarPlay wirelessly. Even if I go to the settings tab, the CarPlay symbol just doesn’t show up.

I may well commit heresy here, but now that I have CarPlay back I’m realizing I prefer Lucid’s navigation and also Lucid’s Tidal app. With Lucid navigation you get it on both screens in gorgeous satellite view plus turn by turn on the glass cockpit, and it’s easier to add a new destination while driving. With CarPlay you have to hope Siri understands you and you’re stuck with the tiny cartoon screen. And with the Lucid Tidal app you can view individual songs in your playlist, which isn’t possible in CarPlay. AppleMusic CarPlay app is great at least, so I suppose that’s one benefit.
I'm betting a dollar that once we Android users get AA, I too will end up preferring Lucids native apps .. Its been very nice to use Lucid maps but the music app is wonky for sure.. let's see..

There is no way this is happening. Was it windy? Outside temp? Elevationd change? CP doesn't add any significant drain on the battery.
Weather was normal…at about 71F. Still don’t know what is causing the abnormal battery drain.

Mid day Sunday check-in. Still waiting of the update to show up? anyone else waiting?

I am with @Bunnylebowski on this. I saw the email and just relaxed until I saw the dot, then installed it. CarPlay works as advertised. Notwithstanding, I took just one day to return to Lucid's maps and Tidal. They are just better. That said, it is nice to have some of my iPhone apps available, so all's well. When is L2 coming? Y'know, something significant.

I'm kind of with you on this one... I prefer the Lucid UI and of course Tidal sounds better on Dolby Atmos tracks. Apple Maps and google Maps are a bit better but since they are isolated on the CarPlay screen only and no SOC info it evens the playing field

Good to know that I'm not the only one seeing this problem. Seems like a software bug that hopefully will be fixed in a subsequent release..

I’m STILL waiting for the update! and that’s after I had an online Chat with Lucid and they said they’d push the software update right away. Am I missing something?! No update notification appears anywhere…. 😖
Still haven’t gotten mine either. It’ll come. We’re just not worthy enough.

Today I gave up on the waiting and texted them to make sure i wasnt skipped. Had it within the hr. I got skipped on an earlier update and wanted to make sure it wasnt a pattern. No issues.

The CarPlay implementation has a ton of unused screen around it and yet the decision was made to eliminate the clock if CarPlay is active. I can not understand the logic of that decision. Ok you can have car play, but I’m taking the clock!
As I mentioned in my video, I’d love a clock and maybe even the day / date in the center dashboard right in the middle beneath the speedometer. There’s plenty of room there.

I just created and uploaded a video that discusses the basics of CarPlay setup and usage. Keep your expectations low, and you will enjoy it.
I watched it. Thank you for the tip about the wallpaper. I agree to go with black to integrate with the Lucid UX… Keep up the great work.
