Two things I took away from this…

A: they refer to it as a van

B: I’m getting that the stereo appears to be a significant improvement over the Air, Idk how this happens where they touted the Airs audio as one of the best on the market, and I was really let down when I saw what it was, but that being said, if the gravity is that much better I wonder if any reviewers will call that disparity out.

Some of the difference between the Air and the Gravity sound systems may come down to the greater interior volume of the Gravity which might make it easier to produce a larger sound stage. (Although the sound system in our Air Dream improved significantly with last year's OTA update, the audio in our Gravity Dream is a definite notch up.)

When we got our first Honda Odyssey back in 2011 I was astonished at how much better the audio system sounded than in any of the premium (mostly German) cars I had owned. I have always opted for the top-tier audio offering in any car. Although the Odyssey had the premium sound system of the "Elite" trim, I seriously doubt the components themselves were that much better than in the other cars I had owned.

Air space is always a factor but I’m reading significant points about rich depth that the air lacks which is a result of them focusing more on the low end octave that the air physically lacks in their setup

I am testing the EX90 today so I will be able to compare, since its widely regarded as having one of the best Dolby Atmos systems. I finally was able to download a lossless atmos test sample file to run on USB in my Air with SSPro too.

We have an XC90, I do like the stereo in it, got my daughter an Acura rdx and was really surprised how good that system was, but IMHO I had an Audi q8 that I think was the best I’ve ever heard, also really liked the Escalade Bose system but that was second place.

I thought that was a great review!
Gravity has rear-mounted subwoofers that are not present in the Air. This puts additional pressure/constraints on the Air's DSP programming.

I figured as much and it’s a welcomed enhancement! What I’m saying is for how much they touted the Airs audio system, I wonder how that will resonante now considering the mixed customer reviews and now that (apparently) the gravity delivers…

I'm sure they'll put enhanced bass on the list for the Air's eventual refresh, along with faster NACS charging, and an improved key system.

Future models I think they will have to, but current are SOL

Unlike some, I'm happy with the audio in my Air. It's night and day better than our Volvo's premium Harman/Kardon. My taste favors clarity rather than a deep bass beat.

to each their own!

I think the audio review is pretty accurate. They did a great job with the noise factor, it really does feel like a bit of a step up from the air in that regard. I'm far from an audiophile but just the fact of the shape of the car I think helps distribute audio better than the Air imo. Of course I'm sure the speakers being newer and better utilized probably didn't hurt. I like the audio in my Air as well, especially after that one big update they did to boost Surreal Sound Pro.

The Air surreal sound pro is awesome. Not sure why people think it is not.

I really don't get the bass complaint ( Dolby SSPro w/ ATMOS ). I have to wonder if the kids complaining have never heard music. Seriously.
In my dotage I've become a classic jazz fan.... I love to listen to an acoustic trio. The sound of the bush on the snare, and the upright double bass, barely audible but there, deeply there ... a huge presence in the shadows, while the piano thinks over the next phrase. Heaven.

I am a recovering audiophile. I never use tone controls.

after the update I had to turn down the bass. please sir, don't re-audio engineer my music !

If you like hip-hop or electronic music, the original level of bass on SSP was simply not in keeping with how this music is meant to be experienced. I get the sense that Air was engineered for your favorite type of music, but it excluded a lot of people.
