What to Expect: Repair and Labor Costs After Warranty

I called two places to determine what the cost would be for an extended warranty. Endurance will not service a Lucid. CarShield offered unlimited miles, fixed price, and no term limit at $159.99 a month for their Platinum plan.

Have not called anywhere else, but given the labor costs, independent shop costs, and material costs, the ~$2k likely comes out ahead.
I would be shocked if they offered transportation in that especially since that is not a typical item, I just put in a web form so I'll ask when they call to see.

Just got off with CarShield, and they quoted me pretty much the same monthly cost but they offer towing as a "perk" for the first $200. When I pressed her on if that was one way or both ways as I laid out the car had to be towed to get serviced she kept affirming it was a perk and not a part of the service and it could go away at any time...so take it as you will, for me, the tow was ~$1,500 one way for me (depending on the quote/time) which means you'd still be paying $159.99/month (which can escalate like insurance) plus ~$2,600 in transport (for my use case)

I'll definitely look into XCare when the time comes. I have 12 more months on my 48 mo warranty.

They are kinda already doing this.

My local service center, while listed on the Lucid website as a service center, is a "satellite location to the Tysons Corner service center".
There is absolutely no Lucid branding at the location; much to my shock on first visit.
The facility is located behind an existing auto repair/body shop that is certified to work on over 30 car brands.
What role the repair/body shop played in determing the location? Not sure.

The service tech said the location used to be a Tesla service center until Tesla opened up a dedicated service center (like the "fancy" Lucid service centers) in the area.
The plan seems to be to open a dedicated Lucid service center in the same region as my satellite service center, which btw does excellent work.
I hate driving over an hour to reach Tysons. Where is this local service center?

The service center is on the property of Dorn's. Located behind Dorn's behind a gate.
The service center phone number is on the Lucid website.

So that your jaw doesn't hit the ground like mine when you see the facility ...

I remember this place. Had to ask twice to be sure. They use the small building, but they get access to the equipment in the bigger building.

The owner is a great person to chat with.
