What is going on with orders?

That’s what I thought too except they have more vehicles than what are listed. I literally stood in the showroom and said “the website doesn’t show what I want” they had idk 30+Lucid Airs sitting in the garage that hadn’t been posted for sale yet and let me pick one.

Sales advisor can also look at the factory inventory, which is also not listed on the site.

So odds are, yours does exist and isn’t ready for delivery yet.

There’s no way they sold yours out from under you, because until you sign for delivery, you can just walk away from it.
I didn't read the message as thinking their exact vehicle was sold out from under them, but rather there was a vehicle that was an exact match to theirs in the online inventory and they are wondering why it wasn't matched to them if it is available before theirs is.

I tried yesterday afternoon and today. Problem is im trying to validate whats not on the car and in that time to research it disappears.

but yea i am not crazy about the notion that i have to do "WORK" after purchase agreement. I already did that in making my purchasing decision. Isnt it kinda nuts to expect that ownness to be on the customer? Beside i have better things to do than sit on the site refreshing every few moments.
They’re super hot sellers, best way to get what you want is to order and wait. Which kinda sucks but then you got one just for you.

I think anyone that "orders" a car is considered patient. I would consider myself patient, so not sure thats the issue. The issue im pointing out is, this is unacceptable to "allow" a car that matches to a previous order to be available for IMMEDIATE purchase.

ohhh and the worst part? the kick in the nads? IT KEEPS HAPPENING!!!!! LMAO

you ordered this spec? to bad we will tease you with posting it and then while you try to verify, make it disappear.... my wife doesnt even c***block me like this

all I know is that my order for a Gravity GT was slowly moving forward. the HUD issue was keeping it from being produced. then out of nowhere my sales guy calls and says my Gravity GT will be available on the 30th for pick up.

i think they are rushing to make their end of quarter numbers! i sure hope the car is ready as they have increased my expectation for the car!

yea i hate complaining, its not in my nature, especially with the current generational challenges in the workplace (to far right field?), but come on now. I mean if they are trying to make numbers maybe i should just go down and help finish my gravity in AM1 since i live here in phx. Bad idea? :)

It’s not the right message to send to a new customer to the brand who has waited patiently, followed the process to then find out they got skipped and someone checking the website snapped up a vehicle in 5 mins they’d been patiently waiting on.
Agreed totally. I also find it hard to believe that everything is selling this fast at these prices.

I think they are quickly selling to those that made orders. If u decline your order, then the car becomes available for sale onsite.

I’m not. We also don’t know how many people had an order and then ended up compromising with one of the inventory vehicles just to get it sooner. May not be an actual surge in new customers but existing people switching.

Regardless, still good to see inventory moving at that price point. A majority of the market prefers leasing luxury cars so don’t assume people are dropping $100K+ on a car.

Call/text your SA and let them know what's happening!

A majority of these cars are being shown either at a location or in transit. I have a feeling that a lot of these are cars that had a designated order holder that backed out at the last minute. The ideal thing for us order holders would be if Lucid at that time had an SA check the order register to see who was up next for that exact build and then offer to them. But then that creates extra cost for Lucid. Say someone in Atlanta has an order and their same spec shows up in Chicago and that owner backs out. Lucid would rather sell it locally (to avoid additional shipping) or if someone not in Chicago jumps on the now available car, they can tack on the $2000 shipping. Ideally, they are probably hoping they can sell it locally and log it sold for this quarter because if they ship it, that sale would not register until next quarter.

i hadnt thought of this, but still crappy to make those of us loyal to wait, to get screwed over in the process... but if this is the reason, i get it...

Hopefully Lucid will be a little more purposeful in their allocation/shipping process after the end of quarter mad rush. Also, what are you complaining about. You just placed your order a couple weeks ago. I placed mine 5 months ago and still not in production.

I can see that being true for the ones that are in stock now but the ones that are listed as available in 2 or 4 weeks won't make the end of quarter cut (which most of them have been).

Just remember safety first!

If your order has an assigned batch / VIN, Lucid system is most likely not matching available inventory since you have been assigned a batch / VIN.
Unless your SA is proactively checking against available inventory - you are technically "assigned" a build in progress

I got a call my vehicle was in production last week, had a VIN, then lost it yesterday and the portal reverted to Order Confirmed.

Ordered day 1 last November, black / black without tech package etc, didn’t check the inventory site if such a config was available. It’s near the end of the road for me as my Air bridge lease ends in just under 30 days.

my order technically still says “in production” with no VIN, but it has a delivery date of Sept 30 at 4 pm.

Probably close to what’s happening and decent reasoning behind it… but they could still chk order holders with same config and give them the option of paying the shipping or picking it up. If it’s not on purpose, it’d be fun to add that functionality to the system(s)!
