About 1.5 hrs ago, in available vehicles for Gravity, was a vehicle that was 100% match to my order. WHY?

What is going on that orders arent being serviced first before going to available vehicles? There are many things that we say are unacceptable, but this truly is for a company to allow orders placed after to be serviced in a different order. This is why we queue for everything in life, and yet Lucid apparently doesnt feel like this societal norm is valid for their orders. May seem silly to some of you, but if this is how they treat potential buyers, not sure i want to work with a company that does this. Its pretty close to why im leaving Tesla in the first place. Elon placed his views of societal norms above the rest of us.

unacceptable Lucid, i expected better than that.

Same, I saw one this morning that was my exact build and it sold too fast for me to grab it. They don't have any automated system to match existing cars to orders which is just annoying now.

I am not aware of how their database is configured but as im sure being one of many on this forum that does app development... even if the two systems were separate (ordering and inventory) writing two queries when inventory is added to validate it against existing orders 1x day would be almost to easy to write....

Yes, which makes it even more aggravating that they don't seem to have it.

maybe a small group of us should get together and let them know we will do some side work for them.... if they write down our order price... LOL

on the other hand (i TRY to be reasonable), maybe its good they have this small snafu app thing, i could then assume its because all of the rest of the staff are concentrating so hard on deliveries... but then we are back to the whole work smarter not harder and if thats not their philosophy maybe i dont want to deal with Lucid as a new company....

I enjoy my retirement too much now but I'm sure someone could help them lol

i dont blame you for that, congrats on retirement, i cant wait...

Sorry to hear that and that's pretty poor form on Lucid's part. Even if they're two separate systems etc. and don't have a way of talking to each other yet, the least Lucid could do is manually cross check what is in inventory and search against existing orders before allowing them to be posted to the site. I would also contact your SA and ask "what gives?" I believe they have access to see what vehicles are coming \ available etc.

@marqie - Maybe something to look into behind the scenes to why this is happening \ happened.

There is clearly not much organization behind how Lucid is making and allocating vehicles. I've heard a lot of "reasons" but nothing really holds up to much non-partisan scrutiny. I think the reality is that it's a big, ugly mess. I can't think of any reasonable explanation why I don't have a vehicle yet (I had a non-tech GT on order for months in colors and packages I know they were making for others and many orphans went by with the supposedly constrained parts). I believe the production system and the allocation systems are more or less entirely disconnected, other than manual intervention.

I agree. It is starting to aggravate me. Based on the other threads, I know there has been more than one fully loaded black one, which is our order. I haven't been able to see them before they are snapped up to know if they are exactly matches with our interior color and wheels, but it is likely at least one of them was. I am happy for people who can get it, but if I ordered before them, the system isn't fair.

I think they are delivering a load right now… They had mine ready here in Millbrae a week early… I am very happy with it.

maybe im not following you.... you mean delivering a load as, adding more inventory? or actually delivering a load to your service center?

I think they mean delivering a load everywhere. It’s end of quarter so there’s always a big push to get cars delivered. Some people who were scheduled to take delivery on the 30th got moved up by a few days.

Still doesn’t answer your question of why your order was seemingly skipped and you found the same spec vehicle on the inventory page.

From Lucid’s side, if they don’t match up available cars to existing orders and the car sells quickly anyway, then they get 2 sales out of it unless you cancel your order.

It’s not the right message to send to a new customer to the brand who has waited patiently, followed the process to then find out they got skipped and someone checking the website snapped up a vehicle in 5 mins they’d been patiently waiting on.

That’s what I thought too except they have more vehicles than what are listed. I literally stood in the showroom and said “the website doesn’t show what I want” they had idk 30+Lucid Airs sitting in the garage that hadn’t been posted for sale yet and let me pick one.

Sales advisor can also look at the factory inventory, which is also not listed on the site.

So odds are, yours does exist and isn’t ready for delivery yet.

There’s no way they sold yours out from under you, because until you sign for delivery, you can just walk away from it.

Well... Did you grab it?

My SA has sent me numerous inventory cars that are "close" to my order but not exact. I received notice today that my build start date is 11/3/25.

In my case I have a batch number but no VIN and the car hasn't entered production yet. But there was clearly one made with an exact match to my order that was being sent to Georgia, the $2000 fee to have it redirected to California made me hesitate and it sold while I was considering it.

If they have an already built car that's a 100% match to a customer order there's no reason it should end up on the available vehicles page, ever IMO.

I tried yesterday afternoon and today. Problem is im trying to validate whats not on the car and in that time to research it disappears.

but yea i am not crazy about the notion that i have to do "WORK" after purchase agreement. I already did that in making my purchasing decision. Isnt it kinda nuts to expect that ownness to be on the customer? Beside i have better things to do than sit on the site refreshing every few moments.
