West Coast Customs Delivered Perfection — Down to the Last Exacting Detail!!

When looking at getting our Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance wrapped, a friend suggested we check with West Coast Customs. The next day, we visited West Coast Customs in Burbank California and were quickly greeted by their friendly staff, and a few moments later by Ryan Friedlinghaus, the CEO of West Coast Customs. West Coast Customs took our Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance and made it even better than new. As many of us know Lucid’s factory build quality was already exceptional, made even better by a few mobile appointments, but WCC’s team managed to tighten every panel, perfect every edge, and deliver a completely custom wrap and detailing job that feels OEM+ in the best possible way. We gave them an insane timeline (only a week and a half before Monterey Car Week, which they beat, and they not only performed but hit this project out of the park. This wasn’t just a wrap, or a paint job, it was a full tear-down and precision rebuild. We have a lot of praise and beautiful pictures to post but I want to get the simple out of the way. This is probably the best wrap I’ve ever seen.

WCC fully disassembled the vehicle, something really only their shop had the unique expertise and experience (confidence) to do. WCC removed the bumper, trunk, and trim to ensure every panel was wrapped edge-to-edge with no corners cut. Even the interior door molding and parts that will literally never be seen are wrapped. How often do people really open the doors at car shows, now we’re going to have to show this off. This is the kind of meticulous craftsmanship you rarely find, especially on a tight timeline.

The custom green wrap was matched perfectly to a swatch we provided from our own book. Using an inside purveyor they were able to get our wrap direct from the factory on the same day. While other shops quoted us long lead times and vague availability, West Coast Customs used their deep supplier network to overnight the exact color. Even when it turned out they needed more of that wrap they kept in contact and updated us that they were having it overnighted to complete the car on our right timeline. That kind of sourcing power and responsiveness was a game changer and absolutely critical to meeting our deadline. WCC is like the ultimate car lovers brand, they take care of every possible need. Also guiding us in the design process (away from a few of our own blunders in artistic license). At first we didn’t even want to do the green pinstripe on the wheel but not only did they mock it up for us they put it on the vehicle to show us the results which completely flipped our mind and made it for sure one of the representations to me of how good their eye for design is.

They didn’t stop at the body panels. WCC even went as far as to disassemble the nose lamp, paint it to perfection, and reassemble it seamlessly. This is a seriously delicate, labor-intensive job done with precision. We had even bought a secondary nose lamp, which West Coast didn’t even need to complete this job. Keeping the entire car OEM, stock from Lucid.

Most shops wrap only the visible surfaces (and refused to do the interior surfaces), West Coast went the extra mile. Every door was removed, and the interior-facing door panels were wrapped to match. This is the kind of detail that elevates a project from impressive to extraordinary. Nothing was overlooked. The wrap coverage is so complete it looks like it rolled off the production line in this spec. (Something other Lucid owners should keep in mind is that it rolled of WCC’s lot even better than new.)

The results?

What you can see through this post isn’t the half of it. As @Denali_Dane and I rallied up Angeles Crest National Highway we experienced no rattles, or creaks. No misalignment. Just totally refined luxury that comes from a Lucid with a West Coast Signature exterior. The vehicle feels even more solid and silent than when it left the factory.

Beyond the craftsmanship, the white glove service was second to none. WCC worked directly with our friends at Lucid to ensure that the entire sensor suite was fully operational before the vehicle was returned. They had our car trailered to and from the Lucid Service center as part of their first-class service. That kind of collaboration and commitment to excellence is rare and deeply appreciated. And despite the level of detail, they turned the car around incredibly fast, just in time for its debut at Monterey Car Week, where we hope it is going to draw much admiration from enthusiasts and industry pros alike.

This wasn’t just customization. It was a complete transformation, executed with skill, precision, and care. West Coast Customs earned our trust and our highest recommendation. A special shout out to Ryan Friedlinghaus who was extremely busy, but took the time to discuss our ideas and options with us and made sure that we were kept updated on the status of the car. His personal and exacting dedication to the clients of West Coast Customs is unmatched.

I hope you’ll look into WCC when wrapping your Lucid. WCC offers a one-stop customization shop, from basic window tinting to wraps, PPF all the way to a full customization, WCC can make your Lucid your own. I’m excited to see all the posts to come from other Lucid custom projects at WCC!!

I am beyond impressed with the quality of work that West Coast Customs has accomplished in such a short amount of time. The wrap looks like paint.
I never knew you could wrap door jams. They really hit it out of the park.

I grew up watching West Coast Customs on the TV working where they were working on extreme high end vehicles. And I was under the impression that they were *way* out of my league. But that is not at all the case. We walked in the door and were greeted with 5+ star service.

I highly recommend West Coast Customs for ANY wrap, tint, paint, or modification service you can dream up to stand out from the crowd. Even as a "regular joe" they treated me like a celebrity.

Nice work WCC! Now the real question, how much did this set you back?

It was along the same lines of the luxury shop in SD we got a quote from. But for about double the work they quoted.

The SD shop also couldn’t do the door jams. I think West Coast has a ton of experience with taking apart Lucid’s and putting them together through the partnership with Shaq.

Did they calibrate all the driver assistance systems and cameras after they put the car back together? I only ask as Lucid advised us certified shops that wraps diminish the strength/effectiveness of the radar units in the corners of the bumper.

West Coast Customs handled it for us. They had the car flat bedded to Lucid, and the sensors recalibrated after the wrap was applied.

I haven’t noticed a difference in sensor sensitivity, and no errors are present.

Huge shout out to Lucid Motors or helping West Coast Customs make sure the car was perfect upon delivery.
