Long time (2011 Roadster, 2017 Model 3, 2020 Model X, 2023 Model X) Tesla owner/driver here, with a test drive tomorrow.
Since we already know the EV lifestyle, what should we be looking at/for in our test drive?
Assuming features like heavy regen, regen to a full stop, ride adjustment via air suspension, etc. are available. Already know about two issues:
1) My Tesla Gen 2 charger may need to be downgraded amp-wise to be compatible.
2) Dream Drive Pro on highways will come to a complete stop on its own, but won't start from stopped on its own. WHY?
One feature we do like in our X is the ability to set the Ride Comfort separately from the Handling. We go one notch towards Comfort (wife has neck issues) and one notch towards better Handling (we live on curvy mountain roads). Old-style anti-roll bars were great for us, as we could have the shocks give more cushion while the anti-roll bars keep the vehicle level in turns. A one-size-fits-all ride setting may not be our optimal liking.
Also, can someone point me a discussion here about interior materials? For our order, we've chosen all the options for a 5-seater (Tech, Towing, Convenience, etc.), and Mojave Purluxe Premium for the interior because of color. How does it compare to the leather (Tahoe) outside of color? I was old-school thinking that leather was the best, but in the last 5-8 years the synthetic leathers have really advanced. I know some Mercedes owners that prefer the MB-Tex over the leather because it's easier to clean and care for. Leather still cracks if you don't apply product once or twice a year, and even then doesn't like sun.
