It’s February. Doubt it.I basically live on the configurator. Was playing with it this morning and only the saw option to "Save Design" instead of place order. Are 2027 Gravity incoming?
This may also mean too much inventoryI basically live on the configurator. Was playing with it this morning and only the saw option to "Save Design" instead of place order. Are 2027 Gravity incoming?
I'm just saying that with fewer build variants, inventory would have a better chance of matching a customer order. If there’s inventory they would rather sell one built than build one. Also, just because you “configure” one, doesn’t mean you won’t get a matching inventory unit...
They really do. I don't see how they decided to make so many things optional on a car of this price point. Porsche and Mercedes can get away with that because they are long established companies with a loyal fanbase and brand cache. Lucid is not there yet. The sound system upgrade and 360 cameras should not have been options on a vehicle of this price point for a new brand. There is reason Tesla and Rivian basically give you color and different batteries and powertrain as options. Simplicity. It's my theory that Lucid has too many option choices for Gravity. There are many units in inventory that match my existing order exactly except for one option.
Agree, there are too many options for the Gravity.I'm just saying that with fewer build variants, inventory would have a better chance of matching a customer order.
nobody has accused Lucid of being good at selling cars...They really do. I don't see how they decided to make so many things optional on a car of this price point. I've seen a lot inventory vehicles match my desired configuration but was missing a thing (or two) that would make it a deal breaker. Hopefully they find a way to simplify the options list, at least on the Grand Touring trim.
Options is less so my issue and more the nickel and diming. IMO a lot of these "options" should have been standard. Specially for a company trying to scale. Would have probably saved them money to offer less variations of the same vehicle. Not sure when too many options became a bad thing, but to each his own...
It's complicated from an operational perspective for them. Not sure when too many options became a bad thing, but to each his own...
For us as consumers is what I am more referring to. I love having more options. I cant understand why we'd would want less options. I don't like nickel and dimming, but coming from Porsche, we have it extremely good over here. "Only" a 30k difference between base and fully loaded and a few good colors, which I would have liked a few more. Porsche can EASILY throw 100k+ options on a base car. Lucid IMO got it right for a high end vehicle. Like I said tho, each his own. It's complicated from an operational perspective for them.

No, because people were complaining the cars were too expensive so they offered a stripped down base model that allowed people to then choose the things that were must haves for them. They really should've just included more of these "options" and correspondingly increased the base prices of the GT and T, but they were probably just trying to hit a low base price for marketing purposes. There's no good reason why ambient lighting, for example, isn't standard.
I personally couldn't imagine spending over $95k (speaking for the GT here) for a vehicle and not having a heated steering wheel or 360 camera and only 10 speakers as standard. Too many "must haves" are hidden behind these rather expensive packages. $4200 for the leather interior is absurd. One of the execs, around about November, expressed surprise that the average Gravity order was around $120k. That tells you that most of the things in the options packages were features that people really wanted (e.g. the comfort & convenience package).
