I suspect folks assume, much like I would, that a number could be interpreted as giving out business critical information.
At least, that would be my position having signed Lucid's NDA and not having a team of lawyers on call if Lucid felt the connotation, implication, or any other interpretation of giving out company information Lucid wanted under wraps. They know who is who on the forum for the most part as well, so there is no anonymity on that front.
Even if that didn't hold up in court over a number, that would be a very expensive process for the defendant.
