I drove a Gravity that didn't have the HUD for three weeks and I missed it. It's one of those things you don't miss if you've never had it, but once you've relied on it, you don't want it taken away.

My own Gravity has the HUD and I've gotten used to keeping my eyes on the road. I had to look away from the road often for:
  • Speed & speed limit.
  • Cruise control speed adjustment.
  • DDPro engaged/disengaged.
  • Navigation turn-by-turn direction.
  • Navigation turn distance countdown - far less useful without the HUD as you can't afford to watch the countdown.
  • Blind spot checking - can avoid checking if HUD indicators are lit.
One thing I started noticing much more since I had to look down so much was the DDPro lane and car pathing. I hope the HUD AR display is enhanced to project DDPro pathing as you'll be able to easily see if the pathing is fuzzy or wrong.

I did appreciate the reduction of reflections without the HUD. I know a lot of people can't stand the reflections, but for me, I'll take the HUD and reflections over not having the HUD.

ha beat you, I was without mine for 4 weeks! thankfully they had another GGT for me to use otherwise I would have gotten a bit pissy. that one like yours didn't have the HUD either. nice to see how the other half lives.

for me, that frame reflection is the biggest negative, then having to set the seat lower than what would be normal for me for the clearist view (likely their polarizer choice).

but I am looking forward to how they improve it. (I do get jealous of the little turn & map view I get in my Land Rover on its HUD)

Same here. Despite it's flaws, and now that I can see it after making some compromises (lowering the seat which I don't really like, and getting new prescription sunglasses (non-polarized)), I've gotten used to it and grown dependent on it.

It's still kinda sloppy and could use improvement, but it's working well enough to be useful.

I'm at a point where I'd probably only buy an inventory vehicle with HUD, so I could get a chance to try it out myself before buying. Last I checked, Rocklin still has no Gravities with HUD available for test drive, so I've only sat in the Milbrae showroom vehicle with HUD, which limits how good a feel I can get for what it'd be like to drive that everyday. And it seems like different owners have very different experiences with it.

A significant part of it is getting used to the glare of the box rim in the windshield. After a while you kind of ignore it but it's a turn-off at first.

And then of course getting both the seat and the HUD positioning set to where you can actually see it. (And in my case, new glasses.)

If you can accept all those compromises/conditions, then it's OK (or at least mine is - some others seem to have worse focus or tilt issues). Until I got past all of that, I was cursing it out.

I posted this in another thread. It's my view at eye level. The camera picked it up as blue but it's really white. The glare is a bit worse when it's not cloudy but it's close to this.

Rocklin, CA? Where one can get a service appointment in like 2 days? ;)

HUD is definitely better now with 3.6.0, that dangerously blinding violet glare during twilight hours seems to be gone. I turned mine back on

Also for the HUD after 3.6, I have noticed that I can adjust the height in smaller increments which is nice.

I am glad that the blinding glare doesn't happen anymore after 3.6. I had never been bothered by it until the day before I upgraded to 3.6 when it was blindingly bright while driving through construction zone at night, i think the lights from the construction area were throwing it's calibration off. I'll have to see if that happens again on 3.6.

After installing 3.6.0 last week, I drove in dusk conditions on multiple days with HUD on , and had none of the violet blinding glare that I had on all of previous software versions. Hope you will experience the same. Wish LUCID added horizontal adjustment to the HUD image too though, I'd shift mine a bit left if I could

Same for me, I haven't seen the glare when driving at the hours when I used to experience it
