Storing the Lucid Gravity Outdoor Car Cover

Beautiful car cover BUT

No instructions.

it comes in a Lucid Duffel (densely packed). *

Great fit on car.

After removing from car and carefully folding….

Two people wrestled with it, sat on it, stomped on it, refolded and did it all again.

AND COULD NOT ZIP THAT DUFFLE CLOSED.

Anyone have a solution?

Even a home type of blanket vacuum pack does not seem to compress in correct shape.

*I am guessing - but was some commercial vacuum packing used?

Maybe a different Lucid duffel?

Crazy. Just minutes to put on and take off car. Then an hour trying to get ready for storage. Now looking for an old sail bag.

A bigger storage bag seems like an easy fix. Do you just wad up the cover or do you remove it properly? By properly, I mean tri-folding the left and right sides so that its a thin log roll on the centerline of the car. Then standing at the back of the car, roll it up like a sleeping bag keeping the roll as tight as you can. It makes it easy to install too, just start at the front and unroll the roll and then unfold, latching the mirror pockets first to prevent the cover from sliding off and hitting the ground and picking up grit. Never cover a dirty car!

How are you at repacking tents?

A vacuum should not be necessary. In general this just requires careful folding to the length of the duffel, and then a roll. Tarp-style folds are helpful to avoid trapped air. Lay out the cover flat, fold the edges from the long dimension to the center. Fold again from the outside (folded) edges to the center. Repeat until you are twice the width of the duffel, then fold to stack to the sides. Now carefully, tightly roll from one end.

Thanks. I would say we did something quite similar. All I can say is years of folding huge sails on a pitching rolling deck with lots of interrupting objects was much easier than getting this sized for that duffel. Has anyone actually done this successfully?
