Do I have to have Lucid dealership do State inspection sticker or can I go to a place of my choosing?

Lucid GT leased SUV.

They don't do inspections, at least here in NY

Same in MA, you always have to do your own inspection on a new vehicle.

That’s strange to me. I have always taken each of my vehicles to say. Volvo service for a State Inspection sticker. I thought Lucid would provide that service.

Thanks

There's a good reason
most states (if not all) require that if a place does state inspection, they have to allow anyone to come in and get one
and since they are specialized in their own brand tech, they would not be able to deal with doing an inspection for say a gas engine Honda Civic

When I took delivery of my used Air from Tysons, VA earlier this year, it came with fresh new state inspection, registration and license plates. All came automatically with absolutely no opportunity for me to request otherwise.

I guess it varies state-to-state whether or not state inspections are done before delivery? I have no idea if the inspection was done by Lucid or if they sent it out to be done. The car registration and license plates were issued by Lucid themselves, though (another Virginia thing).

My 26 Air Touring was delivered with a Virginia State Inspection sticker. Not sure if Lucid did the inspection or if they have someone near the Tyson's Corner Studio that provides that service.

Which state? Here in NJ, inspections aren't required for EVs. It's wonderful (and one of the few things NJ gets right!)

In NY, they (NY State) sends a temporary inspection good for 10 days with the registration. The EV inspection for a new car is pretty pro forma, and indeed nonexistent if you find a compliant inspector. (This is not unique to EVs. My previous car was purchased in VT and the same thing happened.)
