Spotify is constantly skipping songs

Since yesterday, Spotify doesn't allow me to listen to anything and constantly skips songs. It plays them for a fraction of a second if they happen to be cached before, but still skips them another fraction of a second later.
Did anyone experience the same?

I tried soft and hard reboots, tried logging out from my spotify account and then rebooting before logging back in. Tried forcefully logging out all clients from Spotify web UI. Tried to log in with my wife's account to see if it's account specific. It's not.
I had to switch to Carplay, but the built in Spotify app is so much easier to use.

Glad someone else has confirmed the same experience here. I use Spotify often. Before the latest update, when it has spotty connection Spotify will just pause. Now is skips so fast, and I believe plays again when connection is strong.

I had the song skipping happen briefly two days ago while driving. It stopped after awhile and has been fine since

Someone, perhaps on Reddit, reported that it was a problem with having Spotify logged in on the Gravity and his cell phone at the same time. I don't use Spotify, so can't test it. He said that he logged out of Spotify on his phone and the Gravity player started working properly.

Same here. Tried logging out of Spotify on the vehicle and my phone plus reboots and still having the issue. It started before downloading the latest Lucid software update and continued post-update. Works fine if you play Spotify through Car Play.

When playing from a playlist, my Gravity's Spotify seems to play a song for a fraction of a second, then play the next song completely, then another song for a fraction of a second, then the next completely, etc.

Same. Small upside is it encouraged me to try out carplay. audio quality is actually better with CarPlay so I may just stick with that.

I had no idea car play audio is better than native. Is that true?

I’m also having this issue but it’s skipping regardless if it’s CarPlay or native Spotify app. I have a video of its helpful

Probably subjective but it sounds a lot better to me.

Check your streaming bit rate for Spotify and Tidal in the car's settings.

Gravity streaming quality.webp

For those having problems with Spotify, are you logged into multiple devices at the same time? There was a thread a while back that Spotify itself doesn’t like it when multiple devices are logged in at the same time.

I am logged into Spotify in multiple devices at home and in another vehicle (native). But that has been consistent since purchasing the car last year. This behavior started only recently. Daily user of Spotify.

Same here. Been working fine logged into multiple devices for months, even over Spotify Connect. Also used the jam session feature last week so my wife could control music from her phone.

As of a few days ago, skip skip skip… Logging out has no effect.

Carplay audio does somehow seem similar to the infotainment app’s sound quality now. Felt much boomier no matter the EQ or quality settings when I first got the Gravity

It only happens on certain songs for me. For awhile I thought maybe Paula Patton was hating on me because songs from a Robin Thicke album were the only ones with issues.

Not the case. Sorry Paula.
Fortunately Daft Punk is on the good list.

Also an issue for me. I haven’t checked cart play, but native Spotify does an almost infinite skip and stops on seemingly random songs

Same in my Gravity but it actually started on Wednesday when I was driving in my Ford Fusion. I’m wondering if it’s a Spotify CarPlay issue vs. a Lucid issue. I’ll try in my Volvo tomorrow.
