Small light on front quarter panels

Can anyone tell me what the small ight is on the front quarter panels? Picture attached.

Looks like a side marker light which is required for vehicles so they are visible to cars coming at 90 degrees. Most have them on the side front / rear quarter panels, but many vehicles build these into the front/rear lighting assemblies nowadays.
