Does anyone know what criteria the car uses to figure out when it should slow down for a curve when using DDP or ACC? It doesn't happen very often. But it seems like at least 50% of the time it happens, there's no significant curve that justifies it slowing down the way it does.

By any chance were there cars coming towards you? I’ve had that happen on roads where the car could see oncoming traffic and interpreted it as a slower vehicle ahead. Just a guess

For me usually there is some kind of a curve but not enough to really worry about (especially since I rarely drive more than 10 mph over the speed limit; cue the smirks…). I’ve kind of wondered if it triggers that when it simply can’t quite see far enough ahead to be 100% confident.

Though its reaction (often slowing down by 10 MPH or more quite suddenly) is more like an old lady flinching than a super spiffy car that’s taking a beat.

I've had it happen in many circumstances. I'm guessing some of the times yes and others no.

It's even done it on an interstate 🤷‍♂️

Yes my Air does this deliberately and noticeably.
I don't know the thresholds in steering angle and velocity.
I've just spent 20 of the last 45 days on BMW motorcycles with cruise control and they do the same thing.
I speculate there's a safety/liability component here -- the manufacturer doesn't want holding the speed to ever result in loss of traction and control.
I can and do override it with the throttle when I want to.

No real idea. Mine does it occasionally. Happened the other nigh and my wife was like "What the hell are you doing?"

The Gravity doesn’t slow down for curves very well, either. It enters the curve too fast and slows down while in the curve, which you should never do - avoid breaking while cornering.

I have curve speed control turned off and disengage DDPro/ACC if I need to slow down for a curve.

I always got the sense it was tied to the steering angle at [x] speed.. like others have said, it feels like it's braking too late so I don't think there's much logic to it.

It'd be nice to get a real answer but I doubt anyone without a Lucid employee badge actually knows. The joys of proprietary software!

Yeah, I’ve discovered that’s what my accelerator pedal is for and override. 🙂

You have curve speed control turned off on the Air or Gravity? I haven't found a way to turn it off on my 2022 AGT.

I was going to ask the same question. I don't remember seeing it as a setting anywhere on the Air. Touring with DDP

The Gravity has a setting to turn it off. Hopefully the Air will get it with UX3.

My Air slows for nonexistent curves on the interstate at the same points each day on my commute. It’s very annoying and dangerous when the car inexplicably slows with other cars close behind.
