Should Lucid partner with Wayve for self driving?

Isn't this pretty similar to what Nuro is doing?

I imagine this, like Comma/OpenPilot and Tesla FSD, are vision based (camera only), while DreamDrive uses a variety of sensors and LIDAR. Essentially, their software isn’t setup for all the hardware sensor inputs that Lucid uses.

FWIW I was an early Comma.ai user years ago. For $1,000 a Comma 4 is was more usable than DreamDrivePro in my Air GT. It was even way more usable 8 years ago than DDP is today…

Nuro is targeting robotaxi with extra hardware. Wayve seems to be targeting consumer L3/L4 using existing in-car hardware, including radar. I haven’t seen anything about lidar.

They have partnerships and backing from some big names (Stellantis, Nissan, Mercedes, Uber,Microsoft, Nvidia).
