Shape of Competition Coming Down the Pike

Ye Honda S7 was also unveiled for $36k with 400 miles 😂.

$20k? That's ridiculous.
Maybe not!

China-bound cars might have less features and safety regulations and consumer protections. But it is probably real.

BYD, China's EV leader and one of Warren Buffet's Berkshire investments, just overtook Telsa as the EV King in China.

About 50 years ago, we (Americans) laughed at the Japanese cars which started their incursion in the US. Are we still laughing today?!

Just got back from a week in Shanghai. 50% of the cars on the road are EV. Dozens of brands. Competitiveness is fierce. Tesla is priced lower vs other countries in order to compete. Unclear if general lower pricing from government subsidies, lower regulator standards, or lower costs associated with Chinese manufacturing (probably a combo of all three). The lower regulator standards do have people there concerned about certain brands.

"The lower regulator standards do have people there concerned about certain brands."
Any insight?
