I bought a 2025 Lucid from the Salvage Auction that was a theft recovery and the car is in Service Mode and when I took it to the dealership to get it removed they sent me to a certified Lucid Body shop and they told me that I have to get the car shelled (That means that I have to buy a whole nother car shell and pay the body shop to remove everything from the car I bought (with no damage)and put everything on the shell that I would have to buy) The shell cost min 20 something grand not including over 20k on labor to transfer the parts from one car to the other just to get the car out of service mode, I checked with Rivain and they're policy regarding the same situation and they charge 800 buck to do a HV pack inspection and Tesla charges 800-1200 to do the same inspection, but Lucid wants me to buy a whole nother car shell to transfer all the parts. Question is does anyone know another way around this, or anyone else dealing with the same issue?

Sounds like complete nonsense to me!

BTW, I just had my Rivian serviced at a body shop due to someone backing into my car resulting in some cosmetic damages. During the service period, the body shop put my car in "Service mode". When I picked up my car, I asked the service manager what "Service mode" is.

He said that it basically allows them to work on the car and access certain data stored in the car. It makes it easier for them to look at hidden issues that are not immediately apparent.

Now, that was a Rivian, not Lucid. I assume that the objectives are similar. What described seems total nonsense to me.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, and I'd try escalating the case directly to Lucid corporate because several owners have had better luck getting exceptions or a clearer explanation than what they received from a single service center or body shop.
