RESOLVED Grill aero shutters stuck

Cool, thanks. Looks like "Front Fascia Assembly Remove and Install" would be the key document to have.

How did this turn out? were you charged? They punted my concerns from ~1,000 miles on the odometer it hasn't stopped and car has around 9,000 miles now
No it was of course covered under warranty but tbh the problem was resolved for a while but seems to have returned as soon as temps got very cold again. Also one other thing I noticed now when they are stuck shut and I approach the car to drive it the climate control is on "10" like at max a/c I guess to try and open the shutters it was probably reprogrammed

I find it is not just when it is cold but more like when there's cold/warm/cold. It seems like water from melting snow re-freezes and causes them to stick.

Mine goes in for this in a week and a half. My working theory is air is getting past the frunk seal and causing the whoopee cushion effect. My hood isn’t even, it’s below grade on the driver side and above on the passenger. This didn’t happen until they adjusted my hood to open correctly.

It happens at around 50 mph for me.
So when mine went in for this, they said they couldn't recreate the problem. Right when I got it back I immediately was able to hear the problem. The specialist told me to stop by the SC whenever I'm in the area to pick up a tech and point it out. They didn't "level out" the hood either. If this is temperature related, maybe the car sitting in their 70 degree shop for a few days before looking at this was a factor.

I think that's exactly what happens - when my car is in 60 degrees or higher for more than 8 hours the issue goes away.

Is anyone with the grill shutter issues willing to provide last 8 of VIN? I want to get a comprehensive number and location of the affected cars so that Lucid actually pays attention.
I put mine in here. If there is a better way someone let me know.

I think there are two issues here. One is the shutters getting stuck and making the clicking sound. The other is the humming/fluttering/buzzing sound. I think I'm going to temporarily attach a GoPro to the front of mine, pointing towards the shutters to see if that's where the sound comes from. Mine feel kind of loose and might start vibrating in the wind, I can feel it through the accelerator when it happens.

Here's the humming sound.. I need to tape it to make sure, but it might be the metal trim piece on top of the bottom of the front clip. It seems to be loose.

Wrong thread.
Where can we put this together so greater audience can see it? I have had no luck in getting Lucid to address the front aero issues in the cold. Mine are now to the point they don't really work anymore as the motor is dead/weakened due to the constant opening/closing attempts in cold weather. Any guidance is appreciated @Bobby

While it is true that Lucid does sometimes monitor the forum, it is not the most direct way to get their attention. Your best bet is to contact customer service directly.

Now that consistently cold weather has finally arrived in MN I’ve been curious to see if the shutter problem persists. I’ve listened/checked for it on a few sub-32F days and haven’t heard the stepper motor struggling/popping. None of the OTA updates in the past year have mentioned this (wouldn’t expect so, given the obscurity of the issue), but maybe there was a tweak in the code. Regardless, I’ll be listening for it but so far so good.

It seems to be a factor of cold/snow then warmer or garaging, then cold again refreezing the melt. Not sure there's an OTA that will fix that.

I had it last winter but haven't had those conditions yet this winter so we'll have to see

Just got this today as well. Lots of useful info in this thread as to why this is happening. I'll stop by a SC tomorrow if the sounds are still ongoing.
