Hi All,

I just changed my order from a gravity gt to DE. I know no lease details have been made available yet. However I was wondering if any that leased the Air knew if the residual amount of the DE was higher than that of the GT? With the limited availability of the DE model does that translate into any less depreciation?

Thanks. This forum looks active so excited to join. 1st EV experience for me.

Air DEs were never available for lease, so I don’t think there is a direct answer. Judging by auction prices the depreciation wasn’t particularly different.

When you say "[not] particularly different", do you mean DE vs not are going for the same price, or the same discount? That is, have Air DEs held any additional value? KBB has no data.

My own brief glance at this seemed to show that Air GTs and Air DEs depreciated by about the same percentage. Used DEs sell for higher prices than similar used GTs.

Agree with @DeaneG, the DE and GT are ultimately still luxury cars that depreciate like crazy. The DE isn't actually limited or special enough to retain more value, especially with the existence of a Sapphire around. SUVs almost never hold value unless they are G-Wagen style off-roaders.

They may lease the same, higher purchase cost but similar greater residual proportional to the GT, in that case the extra power of the DE is a good deal.
