Question everyone. In the lowest setting, does it feel similar to a gas vehicle? Please help me. I LOVE everything about Lucid. I wanted to try out self driving so a couple months ago I bought a new Tesla Plaid... there's no option to lower the regenerative breaking, I got physically sick, actual motion sickness driving the vehicle in the most "relaxed" mode. I've already gifted the car to a relative, thanks Tesla . I only want an electric vehicle but need it to feel "normal". I can't afford a '25 rolls royes spectre, which allows no regenerative breaking, but I have a '25 Air Touring ready to go, I just need some clarification. I can't go test drive, the dealership is 5 hours from me and I don't have the time due to work. Hoping you can help. Thank you!

I haven't done coasting a long time until you just asked.

In Lucid, you can turn your Regen on or off very easily in 2 places:

On the main menu by changing your mode of driving (Smooth, Swift...)

And the "Vehicle" menu.

When I turn it off in Lucid, it is as if I was driving my old Ford Escort with manual transmission placed on the Neutral gear. That's decades ago when I couldn't afford an automatic transmission car. To save gas, I used to put my Ford Escort in the Neutral gear and let it coast from half a block away.

With Lucid, I now can replicate my style of coasting driving as if I have my old Ford Escort back again.

That said, I am no longer like coasting anymore because it uses too much friction brakes.

I now prefer Regen, not just Regen but a very strong one so I can do one pedal driving without the need of my foot to search for the brake pedal.

My wife got carsick with regen for a while. I had to relearn how to slow down more smoothly. Now she is fine with it. Don't give up too quickly.

There is also an intermediate regen setting on a Lucid. Somewhere between high regen mode and totally off. I don't think that middle ground would bother you, as is is nowhere near as aggressive as high regen.

If you buy one and don't like it, and don't know who to gift it to... :)

We both got carsick with my Model 3 performance's regen. No issues with the Lucid on max regen. Don't know why.

Thank you so much! Also, I appreciate the positive answers on a forum. I will be making the purchase this coming week, I'll update everyone on how it goes.

Good luck! The lease deals are awesome right now because of the $7500 tax credit deducted right off the top and a very reasonable money factor. Leasing ends up as a “best of all worlds” scenario — low monthly payment, the optionality of handing the car back in 3 years, or purchasing it for LESS in total payments than an outright cash purchase. I have not leased a car since the early 2000’s, but the current lease offer was a no brainer!

Yes After 2 weeks, my brain - foot links are getting slowly reclibrated. I am in the Regen off mode less often now.
