regenerative braking/brake lights

I just had a friend tell me she read a article that stated that if you do regenerative braking and your foot is partly on the accelerator pedal then the brake lights on many EV's will not turn on until your foot is completely off the accelerator pedal.

Is this also true for the Lucid?
