I know this thread is old but wanted to share my recent Gravity efficiency and experience overall.
As some of you guys know my wife and I are on our cross country road trip with the gravity now up in the white mountains of New Hampshire and have been in the mountains for a bit… this vehicle seems to love them. We have been hitting over our EPA range estimate (GGT, mid size wheels, 7-seater) full cargo load and everything in the back and frunk, car is plum full and we are torching past the 386 EPA range estimate. We got up to 396 on dynamic range! Efficiency was north of 3.41 at one point. FWIW speeds were ranging from 45-70 mostly highway driving. So far it’s been good sailing with this vehicle. I know a lot of posters on here have been pretty negative about their experience but here is a bit of ours.
We’ve had two service ordeals. First one was the center console issue that others here have had that was months ago. Service drove out to Virginia Beach, swapped out center console out in our hotel parking lot done within an hour been good ever since. Recently we had the issue with the wunderbox… charging on DCFC, would not charge on L1 or L2 chargers. Lucid service in Natick, MA originally said they didn’t have anything for the next 3 weeks. Told them we were on a road trip for next year or so and that we’re only in Boston area for the next week and a half then we head to Canada… they got us in two days later, into a loaner gravity (same color too!) and repair complete within 3 days, off we go. All completed before we left the area and all good since (granted only been couple weeks since then but still).
I have to say, since that last update the bugs are mostly gone. I did get a key fob not detected error the other day for the first time in I have to say over a month. Not sure what the deal was there I thought maybe it died as the key fob wasn’t working in general but swapped battery out and that did the trick. Other bugs though, I can’t really say I’ve had any or at least any that were annoying enough for me to remember.
Some owners on here really get bent out of shape when certain things get buggy or what not and while I get it, I don’t think it’s all as bad as some make it sound. Now I understand, some cars work, some cars just don’t. That happens no matter the MFG of vehicles. There’s always going to be a lemon unfortunately and someone is always going to get screwed by it. We all decided to take the risk on a first year, new vehicle so we should expect not everything to be perfect. Lucid is still learning, whether it’s been years or not, they are still young and have a road ahead of them. The car is miles better than the first day we bought it, that’s a fact. So you can’t say they aren’t trying or they aren’t improving, because quite frankly they are.
Maybe I’m just a casual mid 20 yr old that just doesn’t really give a damn about the very minor or little things that “go wrong” or the button that you click that doesn’t pop up right away so you may need to press it twice (this stuff hasn’t happened in awhile bit, but happened at some point nonetheless). That could be it, but at the end of the day, this car has been amazing to us. We got the car 8 months ago and today we hit over 15,000 miles on it and it has just rocked. The driving dynamics are fantastic, the sound system is like your at a concert, the comfort level inside is just truly unmatched. And for someone who is traveling in this very lengthy two year trip where this is our “home” for the road trip period, it just works. It does what I need it to and what I want it to do. Is there a bug every now? Sure. Is it the the end of the world when it happens? No, the bugs after the last update have caused, at least my wife and I, no discourse, no delays in our day, etc. the car just freaking works.
For those of you on the forum that are or have been on the fence about the Gravity, I’ll be the one to say that I’d recommend the vehicle to anyone that asked. My experience may be much different than some others on here, and I respect that but not every experience is the same unfortunately (or fortunately). The car is awesome. The amount of luggage it can hold is unreal, the range is incredible, charging is as advertised, and driving experience is quite literally like a sports car. I can say, at this time, I have no buyers remorse and I can’t say that about any other vehicle I’ve purchased. I’m the type that’s always looking for the next best thing, but we have it. And I think we’ll have this one for a good while.
