2024 Lucid Air Touring
Is anyone experiencing a rattle / resonance from the rear subwoofer at low frequencies in their lucid? I have the base sound system, Surreal Sound. I experience this only on songs that hit a low band in the frequency range (not sure specifically).

I have a mobile tech over right now that doesn't believe the parcel shelf is the issue as I do not hear any rattling or squeaking when driving. They suspect that this is either a limitation of the subwoofer itself (i.e. just bad) or this subwoofer has a one-off defect. They would ideally like to compare other equivalent lucids playing identical songs to narrow down the reason.

Below I have attached a video I took a few months ago of "man at the garden" by Kendrick Lamar playing. It still sounds the exact same today. It doesn't matter if I play through carplay, native Spotify app, or native Tidal app. Can anyone else with the base surreal sound play back the song and report back?

Hey there!
2025 Air Pure owner here, without, sadly, SSP. Have the same issues with songs that are bass heavy, to the point that it bothers me and I need to change the equalizer settings. Played your song through Spotify and experienced the same issues you mentioned, resonance/rattling from the back speaker.
Hope there’s a fix… please keep us informed!

Thanks for the (sad) confirmation that you experience the same. The tech didn't have any fixes for it today as it was mobile visit and he couldn't confirm if it was unique to my car or not. It really takes you out of the song whenever this happens.

I have the same problem. I was going to raise the issue next time I bring it in for service. It sounds like a blown speaker to me.

I had this a couple of years ago in my GT with SSP and it was the speaker not being mounted correctly. The speaker itself was vibrating because the mount was loose.

My 2026 is doing this exact same thing. I tried pulling the shelf and adding some sound deadening but it didn’t do anything for the big rattles. I don’t understand what the issue is it’s weird. I made sure sub was tight, put some butyl around the edge just in case, that didn’t help. One of the modules back there was a little vibrating so I taped it, but overall didn’t do much when I put the rear shelf back on.

Only thing I can figure is that something inside the shelf itself is causing the vibrations.

95k silent car but the only thing making noise its own subwoofer that sounds like a bag of nails 😭

Sigh, I just took delivery of a 2026 Pure with the base Surreal Sound system and I have the same issue. Incidentally, this replaced my 2024 Pure, which had the same specs and did not have this problem.

Is there any update on the issue?

I read somewhere there's some sort of foam gasket kit they use to fix this, mine goes into service in a few weeks and if they don't fix it, I'm ripping it out and putting a different woofer in there.

Do you mean the Bobby Foam or something else? I understood the Bobby Foam solution addresses a general rear parcel shelf rattle, rather than what seems to be more of a vibration induced by bass notes at highish volume.

Not sure I thought someone said factory was adding foam gaskets and butyl rope.

I have zero rear shelf rattle, but I did wrap the TPMS ecu. However, there is a horrible rattle around 120hz. I suspect this is (from what I been reading) a side effect of increasing some output 6db at certain frequencies in the system. 6db is roughly 4x boost.

I am very impressed with the base Surreal Sound though. It’s quite flat and puts out bass all the way down to 30hz pretty well. I’m still going to add a JL13 but that’s because I like my systems too have too much bass lol

Has your car been in for service yet? If so, were they able to fix the problem? My car still has the problem, but I'd like to know Lucid has figured out how to solve the problem before I schedule service.

No they had to reschedule. I fixed 99% of it and posted a thread. It’s the grills.

Currently, I have my 2024 Pure in for this same service. Driving a 2025 Touring with base sound system. It also has a bit of low end rattle. Curiously, this 2025 Touring with 9 speakers is about 25% better in sound quality than my 2024. Curious if it has a different DSP setup.

Thanks again.
