There is a ton of legroom in the back and I think the dogs would flounder with a soft hammock.

My dog is 71 pounds and 28” at his withers and no problems with the soft Orvis hammock.

Click to expand... I have two of the Orvis hammocks, and for my two dogs (60 lbs each) the hard bottom hammock works better. YMMV.
