Since I purchased my 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring back in May, I have been randomly experiencing both Carplay not wanting to connect and also pauses with Spotify while music is playing. This happens with both my iPhone and my wife's iPhone.

An iPhone is always connected via Bluetooth when we enter the vehicle but sometimes it won't connect correctly preventing Carplay from starting up. When this occurs, we need to disable/re-enable Bluetooth on the iPhone before it will connect correctly again allowing Carplay to start up properly. Additionally, Spotify randomly pauses requiring me to unpause it so the music will continue. The Spotify pauses occur very frequently, nearly every time we drive the car, in fact. But sometimes the pause will happen three, four, five times in a row (it pauses, and I manually unpause it) before it plays without interruption. Eventually it will pause again and it might happen two times, three times, etc. before it plays without stopping again for a while.

Does anyone else experience these issues? If so, do you have any tips or tricks that help in these situations?

Yes and we have the same car delivered at the same time. My current theory is that Spotify pauses when the cell network is weak, but I need to test this theory with downloaded playlists. Even if it happens with downloaded playlists, it could still be cell network related. Have you noticed what the signal strength is when it happens? A Lucid guy mentioned off-hand to me that Spotify disconnects when 4G is not available - I did not have this problem in my Tesla with Spotify so there is something unique to the Lucid.

I have tested downloaded playlists and it’s not isolated to this at all. I was an early adopter of a Tesla Model S for 10+ years and I never experienced this once in that vehicle even though mobile signals are generally poor in Colorado.

I was experiencing this pretty bad when I first got the car. Then I rebooted each time it happened. Now I am 2 months from the last incident. I honestly think a period of frequent reboots helped. But that could be correlation equaling causation

Does anyone else experience these issues, or have tried workarounds like spotify premium mod apk? If so, do you have any tips or tricks that help in these situations?
It sounds like a software or connectivity issue with the Lucid Air’s infotainment system. To address it, make sure your car’s firmware and both iPhones are fully updated, reset network settings on the iPhones, forget and re-pair Bluetooth, and ensure Spotify is updated or reinstalled. If the problem persists, it is likely a system level bug, so contacting Lucid support is the best option as they may have a patch or workaround for the CarPlay and Spotify interruptions.

I have android, but this happens to me too. I think I found the fix. Maybe it will work for you. For some reason, when I use android auto, my phone's wifi is connected to the car's network. If I turn off my wifi on my phone, which I can set it up to do automatically when I place it on the wireless charger, then it uses my cell data and I get no pauses any more.

Hopefully that helps you.

I’ve seen similar Spotify pauses when the phone’s audio focus keeps getting interrupted by background apps. Try fully closing games and other heavy apps before driving, then reset CarPlay by forgetting/re-pairing Bluetooth and disabling “Allow Handoff” temporarily

I’ve noticed that background apps can sometimes interfere with audio playback too. It might be worth closing unnecessary apps before driving and checking whether Spotify behaves differently afterward. For Android users who like testing apps separately, a virtual android environment can also be useful for troubleshooting whether an issue is specific to the main phone setup.

I have a 2025 GT and occasionally carplay needs to reconnected but not often. I solved the spotify pause issue by logging of the native spotify in the car and relying on carplay for spotify. The theory is spotify checks to see if there is another instance of your apotify running every time you switch cells towers and shuts down if it detects the 2 instances. Thats the theory I think, but logging off worked for me - no more pausing

22AGT. Same issue. IOS. Pauses randomly, presumably when background activity is taking place.
