I've had my GDE for a few weeks now and I have some questions...

1. How can I not have the AC come on every time I start the car?
2. How many miles is the left "efficiency" screen basing it off of? Is there any way to reset the mileage? I recently went from 23/22's to 21/20s and I've increased from 2.52ish to 2.79ish and it has continued to go up.
3. Is there any where to force the car to check for updates?

1. I believe you need to shut off the AC before you shutdown the car (I assume you have a specific profile assigned to the key fob)
2. this is not known but is supposed to take about 2000 miles to get enough data on your driving style
3. Not sure if you can do this. The updates are presented at some point usually fairly quickly after an update becomes available.
 
1. Car will start in the same mode you were last using for AC. So if you were not using AC last time, it should not start when you return to car. If you had it on AUTO during last trip, it should start in AUTO again.

2. Dynamic Range/Mileage is a rolling base and constantly adjusts. Never heard how to reset. It is not very accurate and tends to be somewhat conservative.

3. Current software is 3.51. If you are on that, all is good. In the future, updates will be rolled out as they become available. It usually takes a couple weeks for everyone to get a new update and there is nothing you can do to get it sooner. A major update should be coming in the next week or so. Keep checking back here and you will probably see people start posting about them getting it pushed to them. Then just pay attention to your phone app and email for eventual notifications. You also can get notifyed when booting up the car one day.

I think #1 must be an issue, I turn off the HVAC every time I get in the car but as soon as the car wakes up the next time it is on. Not a huge deal, but annoying. I'll have service take a look when they have the car (I had to wait almost 2 months for an appointment)!

The HVAC software was a total train wreck a couple of months ago but latest updates have improved things but I still notice occasional hiccups in forgetting previous settings with my system.

For me, this happens every time, not once in a while. I thought maybe it was a setting or something. Preconditioning is off.

Are you using the default profile or a specific profile assign to your key fob/NFC card?
 
My software is 3.51. I have my own profile set up with my key fob / NFC card.

I would try to shut the HVAC off and then see if you can “save to profile” another way like adjust the steering wheel or something until it gives the option.

Adjusting the steering wheel or adjusting the drivers seat will give you the "save" question on the center panel

I tried adjusting my seat with the HVAC off then saving my profile then exiting the vehicle (with the HVAC still off) and unfortunately, it still coming on as soon as I get in the car.

Any other ideas?

Always try rebooting the infotainment CPU first when anything seems odd with controls or displays, on either of the two screen interfaces. See your car's user manual section "Restarting the Pilot Panel".

Please don’t waste valuable service man-hours on this. There’s obviously nothing wrong with your particular car. It’s just the way the system currently works. I’d love to know what you think a service tech is going to do about it. Rewrite the code for you personally? Cmon.
