Question when battery below 5%

Hello,

Yesterday in cold winter (drove to urbana champaign, IL) I drove my car to almost 5% (40 miles) or so remaining. I was parked waiting for someone and somehow it felt that someone hit/pushed the car from back.

I took the car to charging station, but all the charging stations were full, and I had to wait again, at that time my driving range was about 35 miles (I am guessing < 5%) remaining.
While waiting, I again felt two times as if someone slightly hit from back of the car.

I am just putting here to see if someone has experienced this and is it common. It was really cold, and battery was almost close to empty, car started telling me to charge soon as well.

Never gad that and I regularly connect at my destination at less than 30 miles range. On the road i usually DCFC at around 40-50 miles, again never felt this. The does give a low frequency rumble from the sound system several times when below around 30 miles.

Thanks for the reply. I also reached my battery first time around at ~30 miles range. First time it happened I check in rear view mirror to see if the car parked behind me hit me or what.

It's possible that your car was trying to keep its battery at charging temperature by sending current through the rear motor. Just a guess.
