I have four months left on my 36 month lease on Air AWD. Just got a "pull forward" offer from Lucid to buy me out of current lease early and put me into a 2026 early if I do it in May. In essence I would be trading my last few months into a new version of same car at about same payment.. Meanwhile, wonder if the 2027s will have any changes or updates--although chances of the 2027s being available before late fall seems doubtful.. In my mind it only makes sense if there are special savings or incentives, which I will continue to explore. Has anybody else gotten such an offer recently?

Soooooo happy to see Lucid using this to control portfolio! Sooooo smart. Also if they apply the BMW model to this as well they will force the Lucid dealers to purchase a large percentage of the cars and incentivize them to certify them and offer special financing on the CPO cars. Fingers crossed....

Does anyone know if they have been doing pull-ahead programs long?

You mentioned you are a car dealer expert. That’s great knowledge to have on this forum. Aren’t about 80% of BMW leased rather than purchased? It seems BMW has really gotten the most out of essentially selling each car twice.

There are no Lucid dealers... Its all the same organization so can't push on dealers like BMW... I think they just have a current inventory of cars to move.. However, the rep said they want to spread out their lease returns and resales over a longer term, rather than have them all hit at once... I don't know if this is truth or excuse.

I believe the new CEO Napoli is gong to start a hybrid model in Europe with dealers and Lucid owned sales centers. Also, in the US lease returned vehicles could go to dealer car auctions correct?

oh I am aware they are not separate entities. Obviously. However way to many BofA lease returns are making it onto the open market. These cars being purchased by carvana and not being reconditioned are being sold for slim profits with little attention to resale value.

Now imagine if Lucid forced THEMSELVES to purchase more cars and Certified them, came up with a TRUE certified program which included MORE WARRANTY TIME THAN THEY CURRENTLY OFFER an explanation of what was completed low 1.9 2.9 3.9% rates to purchase?? Would you pay more for that car? OF COURSE YOU WOULD. That would slowly drive resale up on the Lucid which helps all of us, and makes for MUCH CHEAPER LEASES in the future because the future resale value is increased.

My point is that only the "bad ones" should be on the wholesale market. The good ones should be resold BY LUCID. Re-coned BY LUCID. Lucid needs to show more support to its brand and be the primary reason the brand is profitable.

HAHAHAHA PERHAPS INSTEAD OF TAKING THE COMPANY PRIVATE THEY SHOULD CONSIDER SELLING DEALERSHIPS?? Perhaps Direct to Consumer ISNT the way to go??? ((Oh that is going to trigger some responses)).... However hear me out, There is a lack of customer service when you dont have dealers... There is NO RUSH on ANYTHING to solve problems usually....No customer service. NO ASS KISSING.... Just look at Tesla and Rivian... The lack of customer service within those companies is BONKERS... THAT WOULD INSTANTLY CHANGE WITH A DEALERSHIP. WE LOVE TO A$$KISS! With a dealer step there are NO CARS SITTING AT PORT NOT SOLD They are all sold to dealerships and sitting on their lots, THEY need to figure out how to move them. The manufacture has an additional revenue stream with flooring the cars on a credit line for the dealers. Everyone wins (except for the small group of former Saturn owners that think car dealerships are filled with criminals and cheats... the "BAD GUYS"

Perhaps Lucid needs to consider a dealer body.... Just sayin.... WE know how to sell cars.... and the building of dealerships and service centers go to the dealerships that want to invest in the brand and capture the profits.

I would not expect major changes to Air in the 2027 model year. I wish they’d do a major hardware refresh, but it’s doubtful at this point, while they are still busy getting Cosmos and Earth prepped for launch.

Oh god - please don’t go dealer model - most of us will never go back to working with a dealer as even the best of them suck.
That is the beauty of CHOICE you can choose to work with the dealer that does it correctly. You own a 911 I KNOW (BECAUSE I WORK FOR PORSCHE) YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT A GOOD EXPERIENCE WILL SHAPE WHERE YOU BUY/SERVICE your car!

Give me 5 reasons a dealership is bad OTHER THAN human interaction with bad employees (because this is fixed by competition and google reviews). Im waiting.

@admins I dont want to hijack OP thread. Can you move this to a new thread? @Joe

Hahahaha - really?

Ridiculous pricing of even basic service items
Service centers not trying to fix anything, just replacing at high cost instead
Financing games all the time
Pushing extras like extended warranties, wheel and tire, glass coverage
ADM games
Lowballing trades
Wasting time even for a cash purchase
Salespeople that are lazy, uninformed, and dishonest

I don’t go anywhere near my local Porsche dealer by the way. Set up a separate poll on sentiments towards car dealers and let’s see what results you get. 😜

Dealers don’t fix any flaws because their biggest concern is the state legislature, not the customers buying their cars. They spend tremendously on lobbying to protect their way of business. And even thought somehow every car I’ve ever bought has been at a loss for the dealer (according to them), the car dealership owners are usually the richest guys in town.

Perhaps the better question is why do a large number of people dislike working with dealers? And why do dealers, when confronted with that reality, insult those same buyers by being pushy and insinuating that they’re stupid?

sadly you didnt play my game well.... All of what you said had to do with HUMAN INTERATIONS... FROM A BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE.... Give me 5 reasons a dealer body is a bad idea? I am telling you as a guy 30 years working in dealership as a guy that does "Financing games" as you say, the human element can be corrected with strict manufacture guidelines and just hiring good people. Dealerships with deceptive practices GET SHUT DOWN we see it all the time. Dealerships with a sincere desire to elevate the experience such as at Penske (where I work) THRIVE...

Bad people ALWAYS have a way of working themselves out....

SO AGAIN give me 5 reasons why a dealership model DOES NOT WORK from a business perspective. How does it not help a company like Lucid??

Tesla only survived because it was the only game in town initially when it came to EV's and now they are TOO BIG TO FAIL.... That is not Lucid... so before you say it Tesla is a different beast...

Great point.... A good dealer will self reflect and make correction. and good people work for those dealers. The sad truth is that most of those dealerships with employees that actually CARE are very expensive and therefore not a volume experience.

The volume dealers employ young kids who could care less about service... and they make NO MONEY most less than 5-7k a month.

THAT is what the masses see... Sadly... The only way for that to be corrected is to pray for a good operator who only hires good people.

I dont think that Lucid would ever go the "High volume" route. If they were to do dealerships.... I would believe they would be more on par with luxury brands.

PS... @Leftlane I respect your experiences I am just trying to open a healthy debate... I do respect you and am FOR SURE NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE TO YOU OR DISRESPECT YOU IN ANY WAY. If I have, I am sorry.

I get that you’re enthusiastic and want to advocate for your profession. But this might not be the best forum for that. And arguing and shouting via ALL CAPS at other members gives off a really bad vibe.

I"m much less likely to keep reading when there are numerous (often unnecessary) word or partial sentence capitalizations, it hurts my ears. Also, it's "couldn't care less", unless of course they could care less. Insert sock picture here.
