Has anyone tried out the Gravity Power Outlets?

We used to have a Hyundai Ioniq-5 which had the power outlet and I tested it with a 9amp vacuum cleaner .. worked great

I plugged this vacuum cleaner into my Gravity, turned it on and it ran for about a half second. I got a message on my phone to unplug the device so it could reset the outlet. I tried all 3 outlets and got the same results. So I plugged the vacuum into a kill-o-watt device on the wall and found it spiked between 11 and 12 amps, then settled in at 4-5 amps. I'm guessing the sudden surge tripped the Gravity's e-breaker.

Plans to take our espresso machine on a road trip - I need to test this next
 
This past weekend, I used the power outlets to charge my daughter's hoverboard while doing a short road trip and it worked great. I could see how much power was being used when I went to the energy UI and then selected outlets.

In my experience, the power spike from vacuum cleaners can trip GFCI breakers so I am not surprised that it tripped the e-breaker in the Gravity.
 
Older vacuums can trip older AFCIs. Newer designed AFCIs better recognize spikes caused by arcing and usually do not trip when vacuums are used. Older AFCIs had trouble differentiating between motor arcing (or feedback from vfd motors) and arcing due to a bad appliance.
 
My outlets work great, but I was surprised to learn they DO NOT function while the car is charging (which seems really dumb).
 
Plugged a tiny 2gallon shop vac in the rear outlet, made sure that outlets are on, hit the button and quit in less that 1/4 second. Plug ready lights went dark. Unplugged, lights came back on, tried again….same. So are these useful for running a refrigerator when there’s a power outage as we’ve been told? I bought this package specifically for that use. It appears no tool, no fan, nothing that has any sort of spike in draw will work. Someone prove me wrong or enlighten me.
 
They work during DCFC but not L2
This makes it seem likely that Gravity's 120V outlets are powered by the Wunderbox's AC bidirectional charging hardware.

The funny thing is that I used to run it off V2L adapter in my EV9 with no issues. Looks like Lucid's inverter protection is way stricter ,(perhaps a very tight ~15A hard cap). Dropped a line about this to [email protected], just in case
 
not at all the same use case, but I have used a low power microwave (700W cooking power) as well as a low power induction hot plate, all without any problems. So at least some high power draw applications are OK, and my oscilloscope showed the outlet providing something vaguely resembling a pure sine wave.

So FWIW, the outlets are useful for SOME higher power applications, if not the shop vac. I can heat up as many snacks and cups of tea as I want, while waiting for my kid to finish practice.

I was trimming a tree yesterday and thought "I can use my Gravity to power the tiny pole electric chain saw" .. I was wrong :( tripped the e-breaker just like the vacuum had.

I've not seen any formal specs on the Gravity power package - I'm hoping there is a software adjustment that can make the outlets a bit more useful. I really need to test my Espresso Machine!
 
I used a 600W rice cooker with it last weekend, no problem, flawless performance. I am wondering about an espresso maker for sure. And a hot water kettle. And an induction burner.
 
It seems that some AC motors may trip Gravity outlets' fault protection. I'd be reasonably confident that heating-type appliances would work, as they cause much less current/voltage noise.

Except possibly an induction heater.
That also gave me pause, but if the induction heater complies with international conducted emissions limits, I'd hope that Gravity could handle it.
 
One would think it could handle current inrush of a motor starting but it apparently can't.
I don't know but without a test I'm unsure.
 
I used a hair dryer to help melt off a bad RFID toll sticker in the frunk or rear (my 2nd row outlets don't work), the screen showed about 800W pulled and its working well.
 
I can live without vacuuming the car .. but no Coffee! Well, that's just not negotiable 🤪

Happy to report the Espresso Machine works on the Gravity - and tastes marvelous

I just tried an electric winch that pulls a maximum 1500W. At start up the winch pulls approximately 500 W. plugging into regular outlets in the house is not a problem. Also plugging into a 700 W maximum bluetti power bank works fine.
Lucid should update their E breakers to handle an an initial power spike. I’m getting the immediate shut off like everybody else plugging in motors that most likely spike at start up. I’m going to try my Cybertruck in the morning and see if it has the same problem.
