Just curious if any has seen this before? If so, what did you do to resolve it?

On the mobile app I saw a little orange dot in the top right corner over the mobile key icon. I clicked it and the next screen shows “Passive Unlock temporarily unavailable”.

By any chance do you keep either a fob or your phone near your car, when it is parked ?

I believe that if passive unlock is enabled, AND the car wakes up 10 times in a row without a door being opened, then passive unlock is disabled for 4 hours (and this message is displayed in the app).

I think that this went in a while ago, to deal with people who left a key fob near their vehicle and then went vacation for a week or 2, and got home to find their batteries had drained down a bit (and also for some people who noticed their cars waking up all night...).

I started getting this (twice) after the new app update. 1st time it resolved itself after about 24 hrs. 2nd time I had to go to the car and "actively" unlock it. Haven't seen the message since (fingers crossed)

Ahhhhhh ok that makes a lot of sense. I was actually sitting close to my garage door and I could hear the car waking up a lot so that’s probably what happened. Thx for the info.

Passive unlock will be temporarily disable for 4 hours if the vehicle is passively unlocked 10 times and no doors are opened. After the 4 hours, if the doors were never opened, and if the vehicle is passively unlocked 1 time (once) and doors were not open, passive unlock will be disabled for another 4 hours.

When this occurs, if you press in on one of the door handles with a key present it will unlock.

That sort of makes sense, but I don't understand why I never saw it before 2.4.4. Now I've seen it fairly regularly. It could mean that communication was somehow improved to the point that if I'm two rooms away from the garage, it picks up the fob or phone, but it makes it harder to use.

Also, I heard it mentioned outside this forum from someone else who saw it after the software update. Are there specific changes that increased the likelihood?

I carry a fob and smartphone and can unlock the car with a fob press, but given that the only indication is a message in an obscure location when many people won't even look at the app, notice a dot and tap on it, it simply looks like things aren't working. Also, if the app can show the message, the app could have a button to reenable it.

If passive locking had an option to exclude Home location, it wouldn't be a problem for those who keep it in a garage and are fine with leaving it unlocked.
