Do most folks order a vehicle and later take something out of inventory? Should I call and speak with someone at the nearest center (West Palm Beach, FL) before ordering? I missed the year-end deals, but didn’t have the time to drive 2.5 hours to reach a showroom. I still haven’t driven a Gravity yet. I’m in no rush to buy. I currently have a Tesla and a Rivian.

Any suggestions?

I can't answer your questions but I can share my experience. I ordered an Air GT that was supposed to be available in "about 4 weeks." Well four weeks passed and the car hadn't even entered production with no indication that it was about to enter production anytime soon. My sales advisor found an existing vehicle with almost the exact specs of the car I had on order, so we switched to that car. I don't know if this was a typical experience, but my impression is that production is somewhat unpredictable. Hopefully others will chime in with more detail on buying a Gravity.

My sales advisor switched me to another car after my order was hung up in the "factory gated" status for 6 weeks.

First off, I would find a good excuse to travel to a nearby studio and test drive it. You will not know how great the cars drives until then. Even if it drives, great there may be other things that turn you off about the car. If you want to move forward, order exactly what you want and monitor the inventory cars for a good match. If one comes up, your sales advisor can easily switch your order for it. There are often incentives with the inventory cars. I was able to save about $5k by switching my Gravity order to an exact match inventory car.

I wound up with a different car than the one I went to buy-but-the deal I got was fantastic because I agreed to take one they had in stock. Definitely worth the trip.

Current offers have been increased to $5K for on-site vehicle and $3K loyalty.

Wow. Did the offers get better after year end? That’s now what I expected. But I guess they’ve got to really start selling them if they can build them…

I think so.
Should have waited 2 more weeks and got $3k more discount.

Interesting. Given the loan rates, I’d probably buy now versus lease. I only leased to hedge risk do Lucid going under and/or the car flipping and being left with a Fisker-like issue.

However, having had the car since August, it’s amazing and I’ve no doubt someone would buy Lucid’s tech if KSA runs out of money.
